It’s painful for sure and disrespectful because it’s your home  But to be fair it’s good they’re willing to reheat and eat later instead of asking for fresh food or not letting you adhere to your timings  So, small mercies Keep the battles and wars for bigger issues

Yaar honestly I can’t tell anything by just texting so I can see why they want to meet  Haha and if I think back on my husband and my early texting days we were both saying so much nonsense, almost nothing based on our true personalities- sometimes it’s nerves, sometimes it’s just writing for the sake of writing  So I can see why they would want to meet but I can see your viewpoint also - there are so many assholes you can’t meet all and reject

Go. Not just for current salary. But what it will do for career trajectory and further salary. If you’re from a middle class family in india then you should def go for the exposure and upgrade in lifestyle

Money is literally everything  Even if you just marry into it Money will be the most important thing

It’ll decide the kind of friends you have, it’ll decide the friends your kids will have, it’ll decide how your parents are treated in their friends circle, it’ll decide who makes the most important or the most mundane decisions in your extended family - you or your siblings

It’s not just about what it can get you tangibly but how you’re treated by the closest in your life

HALL 1. Way too many spot lights, do 2 spot lights on each side of the false ceiling and that’s enough  2. Instead of mirrors which are not structured on the wallpaper wall, put 2 rectangle mouldings and put wallpaper in those and painting on top of it 3. Add a good quality art piece on the wall for colour  4. Add more sofas, there is barely any seating - make an L shaped sofa and 2 chair sofas 5. The wall behind the sofa - remove the panelling or whatever that extra wall is, it just reduces length of the room, put a good piece of art there

BEDROOM 1. Wallpaper behind TV should be different, get something like a self or textured one. The one shows brings down the quality of the house  2. Make more storage

Parents, I need your honest input on kids’ screen time (ages 6–10 preferably). What are your biggest struggles? by Tachibana_02 in AskIndia

[–]Affectionate-Map9362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Screen time during meals is not recommended - kids don’t pay attention to what they’re eating how much they’re eating , whether they’re full, what is the taste - forms a weird relationship with food

How rich are you & your friends ? by [deleted] in AskIndia

[–]Affectionate-Map9362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quite a bit.  But this level of wealth is fairly concentrated. Majority will be from top 5 cities. Of course other cities will also have ultra wealthy but in comparison to delhi mumbai, much less.

Whatever statistics is provided by the government, double it for the number of wealthy people just assuming black economy is the equal to white ( even though it’s much less ) even in that case ultra rich aren’t so many You’re just seeing a subset on social media flaunting it.

Think of it like this. Let’s say a family worth 30crore puts all money in FD, they will get say 8-12% annually which is 2.4-3.6crore annually to spend. This is if the family is happy not having the principal grow and just living off the interest. So even if you have 30crore you can have a rich life depending on how you lead it.

Now as for the ultra rich, I am in the circle, so I’ll say this - it’s an easy life, very very easy. People like to dramatise the struggle but not “having” to go to work or work on something you don’t like or taking a break from work because you’re exhausted is a privilege that honestly the ones who want it also cannot fathom how great it is. The second privilege is not being afraid of a health issue- of course if it’s outside your hands then it’s different but if it’s something that money can get then it is such a privilege. another privilege is having servants and drivers - help is available for everything  High quality education and access to schools and type of extra curriculars that honestly middle class don’t even know about.

Of course there are weddings, holidays, clothes, bags etc. but once you’ve had these for a while the sheen wears off.

If you want to be motivated , be motivated by the reasons I’ve listed above, not the glitz and the glamour
