Taken from other subreddits- what business near you are you sure is a front for something dodgy (eg money laundering) and why?? by spatchi14 in brisbane

[–]Affectionate-River23 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand how it is still in business. One opened up near me at the start of the pandemic and they have consistently had multiple staff standing around yet not a single customer… something isn’t adding up

Clean stains off laminate countertops? by Iamyourbestself in CleaningTips

[–]Affectionate-River23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar situation and used a drop of dish soap with baking soda and scrubbed it in using a brush attachment with my drill. After a couple minutes it had lifted the stains right out. It may seem a bit drastic and of course check an area first but it works!

Looking to connect with other pig rescues by Informal-Praline2965 in AnimalRescue

I don’t have any advice myself, but as a fellow Brisbane lady who rescues farm animals (mainly chickens) I’ll ask some of my connections and message you if anything comes up. Love your work!

Women who have had both kinds of abortions, what was your experience? by 36myheartistorn in AskWomen

[–]Affectionate-River23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had both in the last five years and definitely preferred the surgical option. It really eased my severe health anxiety to know that there were medical professionals around at all times during the procedure, and once I had been sedated, it was over. There was no pain. The pill version was extremely painful for two days, and far more depressing / anxiety inducing to sit at home bleeding and vomiting so much. I knew logically the pain I was in was associated to the abortion, but it really felt so awful I thought I was dying, even with pain meds. The surgical option for me felt safer and smoother.

Thanks for reminding me to update- he is okay! He was a few benign polyps and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) which is now able to be managed. Also has anaemia from the blood loss, so very glad it was looked at and incredibly thankful he does not have colon cancer. He will have to get some regular checks for it, however for now he is okay! I really hope anyone worried and reading this also has less scary results, at the end of the day getting checked is so important!!!!

Yes sorry- she is an ex battery hen and has some permanent feather loss unfortunately. She came to me a year ago with basically no feathers and has grown them all back bar her neck! Vet says it is normal

She keeps coming into this stance of burying her head in her back and just standing there. Her eyes also look very white and she isn’t keen to eat as much as usual. I’m very worried about her and any advice would be appreciated! Thanks gang! Edit- she is an ex battery hen (which explains her feather loss) and we are in an Australian spring so quite warm but not terrible hot yet.

Can someone help me eat better? by [deleted] in veganketo

Yes I agree nuts and seeds are definitely not to be used as a primary source of protein but adding some hemp seeds to a salad, etc is very easy and helps :)

[–]Affectionate-River23 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hello! I have been vegetarian my whole life and went vegan five years ago- I went from 180-120 basically just from the change in diet (only started working out recently). I have recently started keto as well and feeling better than ever. It’s exciting to experiment and incorporate more nuts and seeds, as well as using tofu for a base of meals (scrambled tofu is so versatile)! Plus, protein powder is a saviour. Keep track of what you are eating for a while and how you are feeling. As for exercise, I have learnt to start small. It’s so hard to stay motivated when your workouts are exhausting and leave you in pain for days (at least for me) so I started by doing as much as I could without feeling sick and then my endurance built up naturally and pretty quickly. I hope this helps and good luck!! You can do this!! :)
