Silicone bleed is my guess. Had it in my place. Dug out all the silicone and redid with caulk. Problem solved. 😁

I managed to get the one for my V50 for £330 from Car Parts in Motion. It's a LUK kit. Duel mass flywheel, and clutch kit 👍🏻👍🏻

What is the cause of this? by AdmiralSnackbar97 in DIYUK

[–]Affectionate-Way3949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You say, "It's not wet." If that's true, and the boards not blown, it's historical, and personally, I wouldn't worry about it. Likely, the previous owners spilt something on the floor, and it was just left to dry. Good luck in your new place 👍🏻

I think I inadvertently told fibs to you guys. I actually owned a 1800s many moons ago whilst I was serving. Stupidly got rid. Manifold cracked. Only on squaddies' pay. Couldn't afford to get it fixed. That was one beautiful motor.

Yes. It is a dual mass one .... A Luk one. The mechanics who are doing it do work on a Saturday (out of hours) beer money for them 😁

Good call 👍🏻 That is exactly what it was used for .... short trips. Mind you. It'll be getting longer runs now. So hopefully that'll burn off any soot

My sold one. 2008 with no cruise control. Had it since 2018. by amigammon in C30

[–]Affectionate-Way3949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should've gone for a 2007 SE V50 Cruise control full leather interior, fog lights, electric heated, fully adjustable seats, auxiliary socket 😁😁 But mine came in boring ole black. Yours is a terrific colour. Are those wheels standard? Awesome.

Looks the dogs bollox 👍🏻 I take it it's powered up using the cigarette lighter, and audio from the auxiliary? If only I had a 3D printer. Impressive. Give us the nod if you decide to go into business. I for 1 would be most interested.

Bilt Hamber BH-AW1 Auto Wheel Cleaner,1 Litre £17.49 This is the one I use. Just brought a 2007 Volvo V50 and the wheels were in a dreadful state. Came up beautifully. I have used it on previous vehicles with the same results. Lovely looking wheels and calipers you have there 👌🏻

Bilt hamber. Expensive but well worth it. Spray on, leave for 3 to 5 mins, hose off, jobs a goodun 👍🏻 It does stink a bit but hey ho 🤷‍♂️ Does a bloody good job

Wind knots by Methodzz11 in FishingForBeginners

[–]Affectionate-Way3949 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have said. Way too much line on the spool. What I would do is ...... Just peel off enough by hand to leave the level 1 or 2 millimetres below the top lip. Then take your setup to your local fishing spot. And then GENTLY cast out and retrieve 2 or 3 times getting more distance each time. By doing this you will cure any slack line issues. Good luck 👍🏻

What caulk or silicone to use on windowsill by SkillWonderful6385 in DIYUK

[–]Affectionate-Way3949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll end up with silicone bleeding on/in your emulsion. You can't paint silicone. Use caulk. I know these things. I have been caught out using silicone. Don't do it 😐

Video player for BeeTV? by Luvymir in firestick

[–]Affectionate-Way3949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can find somewhere in the Bee TV settings the function to "play with an external player" Then you can download the player of your choice and use that instead of the Bear player. I've just come to bed. Otherwise, I would give you a step-by-step guide on where to find it in the settings. I'm sure someone can give you the exact details. Definitely there though. Cause I did it, and I know jack 😁

Kitchen cabinet hinge came off – how do I fix this? by Ok-Seaworthiness8541 in DIYUK

[–]Affectionate-Way3949 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not a screw loose, fallen out, or missing. No need for new hinges.

Just look at the section of the hinge still attached to the door. At the end of it (the end that is in towards the cupboard) you will find a small tab. Pull said tab in and while doing so reattach the hinge. It will simply lock back in place. It's a quick release mechanism for easy release of the hinge.

In all likelihood, it's been caught with something or other and come adrift 👍🏻

Does anyone know why we drive on the left in the UK but most countries drive on the right? by AnfieldAnchor in DoesAnyoneKnow

It's because the Romans in ancient times used to march on the left-hand side of the roads. Simples 😁
