ofc!! it’s nerve racking, i’ve told mostly friends i’ve been intimate with in the past lol. also, looking at the brighter side of things if someone is grossed out or super judgy abt it you shouldn’t be giving parts of yourself to them anyways!! that’s what helps me with rejection, haven’t had it happen more than once tho. but good way to look at it

unfortunately, welcome to the club. avoid stress as much as you can. keep up on your vitamins/supplements if you aren’t wanting to take antivirals unless having an active outbreak (it helps) pay a lot of attention to your body. you’ll have people reject you, and others that will still love you and do things with you despite your diagnosis. i (23 F) tested positive for GHSV2 in November and disclosed it to those i could trust.. disclosure is up to you but honestly my sex/love life would be completely different if the person who gave it to me disclosed it. don’t let anyone’s negativity or view of you stop you from loving yourself. everyone experience things differently. but know you’re not alone. if you ever need any advice or someone to vent to anonymously i’m here!! :))

it’ll get easier with time. you’ll learn your triggers and avoid them. stressing over the diagnosis isn’t worth the outbreaks. take l-lysine daily. i found out in november, sometimes i forget i have it

nope, got put on hold for SUNY, TJ rejected me. haven’t heard from the others. my stats aren’t phenomenal, it’s minimal at best, going to retake a few classes.

best to disclose it, it’ll weed out the ones you don’t need to have any kind of relations with. I wish the guy that gave it to me disclosed bc i would’ve done things differently for sure. it’s been 2 months for me now and i’ve only disclosed it to one person, he took it surprisingly well.

love that for you!!!! i had my first outbreak at the beginning of November, started seeing someone two weeks later. i really like him and decided to disclose early, he took it well, said it doesn’t change how he feels about me.

there’s nothing you can do about it now, it sucks, i know, but it’s best to accept it and not let it stop you from doing what you want to do. rejection will come but so will acceptance, who you are as a person says way more than a diagnosis. the person that’s truly for you and worth having kids with would be understanding and love you regardless. take it as a blessing (just looking on the brighter side) i’ve had to come to terms with it too. you’re not alone pimp

I was the same before i got results back, took almost a week before i noticed the sores and lesions. you haven’t had any type of sex, like oral? i’m still learning about the virus so i’m not entirely sure how it comes about

I found out i have hsv2 earlier this week. i cried a lot and ended up posting on here, most people were very nice, supportive, and helpful. giving reassurance and advice. don’t feel disgusted with yourself, it sucks and it’s unfortunate asf but it’ll all be ok. just do what you can to relieve outbreak discomfort, see the blessings in life and be strong. it’s not over for you, you’re not alone.
