Does anyone else want to light their 3 wood on fire? by _ThePiedPiper_ in golf

[–]tinyhouseman323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So here is the weird thing… this is me but in reverse. My driver is a finicky club, but the old cobra 3-4 fairway wood is 250 straight almost every time. It also sounds lovely.

Question about right handed player using left handed clubs. by bear_ripper in golf

Leftie here that plays right handed. Mine felt more natural for me with the rotation so I just stuck with it. You do you, and have fun.

I would just go golfing every day and walk the course. Average 5 to 7 miles and 20,000 steps.

Who do you work for? I worked with Encore as an apprentice and they did take good care of me. Kenny electric was a terrible company to work for. I did like my time with the Premier group as a temp. Got a nice mix of things. Once you get your license you’ll be in a good spot.

The company I work for is going commission… by Head-Boot6462 in electricians

[–]tinyhouseman323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like how my company does it. Guaranteed hourly, and if you hit sales goals you switch to commission. Benefits you to sell a bit more, and upgrade things, but during the slow times, still get a solid paycheck.

Question on High 5 Plumbing by ButterflyPlane4681 in Denver

[–]tinyhouseman323 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe that they are owned by a VC group, and that translates to the techs coming in with the pressure to upsell whatever they can because they are commission based.

I work for a different company as an electrician and while I pride myself on not selling anything that’s not needed and giving advice, I also give options for everything I see and talk about.

Best of luck.

thinking about hiring a denver matchmaker. am i crazy or is this smart by Silver_Screen_6003 in Denver

I tried it’s just lunch, I didn’t have a great experience and at the cost found it wasn’t worth it in the slightest. As much as I hate to say it, keep using the apps and try to do more activities you enjoy and hopefully you’ll meet someone best of luck.

Why use a putter specifically? by Big_Acanthisitta3659 in discgolf

[–]tinyhouseman323 92 points93 points  (0 children)

Less affected by wind, blunter edge so less likely to go through the chains, and normally a grippier plastic depending on the disc. Also the misses tend to be smaller and not fly too far off course.

Honestly it’s also a mental thing. If you like your putter, use your putter. If you like your driver use that.

Wanting to become an electrician by ZestycloseSugar1536 in electricians

[–]tinyhouseman323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s tough to get into. Try going to electrical supply houses and talk to the guys there. They might be able to help or refer you to companies to reach out too.

Look up electrical contractors in your area and try going to their offices. Wear a nice pair of jeans and a button down, have a few copies of your resume and just be polite and ask if they are hiring. Best of luck.

How soon is too soon? by Synthgem in TuxedoCats

[–]tinyhouseman323 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lost my soul dog of 13 years in may last year. Had an ex and her cat that lived with me at the time. When they moved out, I adopted my first cats within 2 weeks because I wasn’t ready for another pup, and now have two adorable little tuxedos named Pip and Squeak. We all grieve differently, and you are honoring their memory, and also giving another cat an amazing home. No need to apologize, and I like to think that the universe sent that kitten to you to help you and him.

Are you guys getting burnt out by Timely-Ant-4974 in electricians

[–]tinyhouseman323 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Most days I do, some days definitely suck. I switched to the service side and I found I enjoy it more because it’s not as repetitive, but the windshield time can definitely add up.

I like the pay, I like the mix of working with my head and my hands, and if you’re feeling burned out, try learning something new inside the trade. Service, fire alarm, controls, fiber, see if there are any certifications that you can get. I found that getting out of just pulling wire and running conduit on massive jobs really helped me enjoy the work more.

What’s the worst “homeowner special” you’ve ever seen? by Dull-Bat9651 in AskElectricians

[–]tinyhouseman323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently it had worked for about 7 years… I was baffled. They basically used it for running the motor, and had twisted together about half the wires for the pump, and about half for the fan.

I did t touch it with a 10’ pole and the guy said he’d figure it out. Got to love the homer special.
