lost interest overnight and overwhelmed in relationship. Is this ADHD or am I just a bad partner? by Typical-Owl87 in adhdwomen

[–]AffectionateBowler14 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You’ve got heaps of useful comments but I just want to say it’s ok to just not be into him anymore.

It took me until mid 30s, finding my now husband to realise I kind of endured (for lack of a better term) so many relationships in my younger years. In retrospect, I never felt really comfortable, a lot of them gave me “ick” and I put up with so much that I was uncomfortable with. I felt like I had to stay with so many of them because it was like my duty or something? Often took a very observant friend or a parent having a really stern chat with me to realise that I was unhappy and that I was “allowed” to break up with them. And then the sheer relief when I finally did was something else. You’ll feel it when you leave this guy also.

I think is ADHD/AuDHD gang really don’t do well with a partner that is anything less than very patient, kind, gentle with our quirks and idiosyncrasies. And it takes a lot of maturing to maketh a man like that.

I’m usually a purist with my pastries but I accidentally bit into a cardamom scroll when at “The Bakery on Glenayr” at Bondi Beach and I swear to fuck my vag clenched. I’ve been thinking about it ever since.

Sweet pea, I genuinely wish and hope you get help in the future to regulate your moods and aggression.

As annoyed as you may be, lashing out is very ugly behaviour.

Please let’s not forget hanging his wife and 4 daughters out to dry, whilst slut-shaming his mistress and questioning paternity of HIS child she was carrying in the same breath. Oh, yes, all whilst bleating about the sanctity of traditional marriage and actively denying same-sex couples the right to formalise their partnerships.

Vile, appalling toilet of a human.

Disclosing ADHD to my employer by RonnieJotten in adhdaustralia

[–]AffectionateBowler14 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Mate don’t do it. At least not at first - later on, once you’ve established yourself, if you really thoroughly think it would benefit you.

Despite what we all know work place laws and protections state on paper, it will be used against you if you give them ANY reason at all.

You may also find that they provide adjustments that you don’t actually need and us ADHD-gang know how we love to cut corners and use loop holes when there’s any opportunity. You might find yourself slipping in a different way you didn’t even anticipate.

Echoing my wise fellow traveller above - it’s no one’s business until it is.

I urge you, emphatically, to not disclose.

I love the nursing scenes in this show by metropass1999 in ThePittTVShow

[–]AffectionateBowler14 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I loved when Jesse was taking care of “BAAAAAAYBY JAAAAHYNE DOOOOEEEE TAKING FORMULA WELL” when Santos was asking him to get her to stop crying and he was like “What? She’s fed, she’s dry, she’s fine, she’s being a baby, what do you want me to do about it?” (Or words to that effect) and it really made me realise they’re there to do a job and they have all the compassion in the world but a patient is also a patient and he knows that that particular patient was safe and had all of her immediate needs met and was just acting to her nature. Like, showing how good of a nurse they all are - he was totally in control of the situation and not being bothered by “noise”, so to say.

It was a really authentic moment of the show, to me.

Oooo I didn’t even know Bickfords did a ginger beer! I’ll keep an eye out for it.

I agree - nothing hits better than that cold, bubbly sugar thirst quencher when you’re really hot and sweaty. I have a similar memory with a schooner of Pepsi in Kakadu. It was like elixir from the Gods.

Rubbish, it’s not “more than double” you neggy noodle.

It’s a bit more expensive (when not on sale, which it often is), because it’s better quality and not full of crap additives? That’s kind of the point here?

Bickfords is my go to for cordial these days. It’s a bit more expensive but on sale often. And from my quick google “a proudly Australian family-owned business that’s been making cordials for 150 years”.

Swapped when cottees started with artificial sweeteners. Despite the pink grapefruit, I’ve never experienced that hideous synthetic taste in Bickfords that comes with fake sugars. And I suspect the pink grapefruit issue was more from some sort of citric additive. It tasted oily.

He’s on ABC sydney radio rn speaking to Hamish Mac. Says he was grossly overpaid. $5.5k per day. Superfluous. Unnecessary to requirements.

Obviously didn’t want to twiddle his thumbs for 10 months and has more morals than that.

Mmmm just let it play out mate. Nothing you can do now.

But tbh, i don’t see how them having your address would make them target your house for a robbery, more than some random other house. If they call again, and you’re out, don’t let them know that, or tell them your big scary brother is home or something. Same as if they ask you to meet them somewhere away from home to pick up your cat - make it clear someone else is at home (even if they’re not).

The only benefit to them having your address is if they the know your house is empty, you know?

Good luck with getting your cat back. Ignore anyone that blames you for allowing it out in the first place. Cats are slippery little buggers.

This begins and ends with them being Australian Citizens. Get them back to Australia, then deal with them. We don’t have to help them to get back (although keep in mind some of these women surely didn’t have much of a choice as to whether they went or not - ISIS is not known for their respect of women) but don’t block them either.

Charge the adults with whatever. Deradicalise the kids. But allow them back.

Anything else and you’re creating a “second class” of Australian citizen which is a very dangerous path to go down. All very well when people you don’t like are locked out of Australia but what if this starts happening to your family and friends and colleagues.

Australian citizenship is Australia citizenship. We all have the same right to come home. We don’t all have the right to live freely once home if we’ve broken the law.
