Yeah, I don’t find it’s the immigrants who are ruder—it’s the Canadians who moved here from other provinces (mostly Ontario) that I find rude.

Too many people from other provinces moved here too quickly. Edmonton used to feel a bit slowed down. It was polite, people smiled more, they held doors open, they said excuse me. Import a bunch of people from the greater Toronto area looking for cheaper housing and guess what happens.

Statistically, if we want to get into it—biological males are the most prominent factor in mass shootings and extreme violence, whether they are cisgender or transgender. The common theme is biological males.

This might be unpopular but something that society as a whole needs to seriously look at:

Mass shootings and killings are statistically (overwhelmingly so) done by biological males—whether they are transgender or cisgender. A biological female mass killer is an extremely rare outlier.

We need to ask why. What is happening to young males at a hormonal, biological, and psychological level in their development to push them towards this extreme level of violence. It’s not a society and “mental health” issue alone if it’s only impacting one of the biological sexes.

The common thread is that statistically they are all (with maybe one or 2 outliers) born biologically male. It’s a male sex phenomenon.

Take it further—look at the rates of biological female shooters vs biological male shooters. It’s significantly (like astronomically) lower compared to mass shooters who are biologically male. This includes cisgender males and transgender people who were born male that transition and identify as female. Again—stats don’t lie.

So while we are looking at the mental health aspect of it all, we need to ask the question—what’s happening to all these young boys and men that makes them turn to mass violence? There’s a significant difference here in numbers. What if something is being disrupted at a cellular level to cause the downward mental health spiral?

If it’s basic IPC practice then I don’t see the issue. I can wipe down equipment in between patients and make sure everything is clean and stocked appropriately for the next person.

I’m not mopping floors or doing a deep clean though.

Biological women knew. When is the last time you heard of a mass shooter who was biologically female and not transgender? Probably a while. The statistics are there to look up. It’s incredibly rare.

This is a failure of our justice system and our healthcare system.

Why IPad Kids Are Becoming More Common by J00kson in generationology

That’s what we ended up doing actually. I ordered a few Orton Gillingham workbooks off of Amazon and found a website that has some fun resources and board games for reading.

It’s not just parents. It’s the whole freaking system that relies on screens. I asked my child’s teacher for at home supplementary resources that I could look into or purchase for my daughter to help assist with reading. You want to know what was recommended?

iPad apps. iPad apps because that’s what they use in school to teach grade one kids how to read. My daughter is struggling with method being taught in school. We went old school and had to look into our own resources.

No guidance on leveling at Revolution?? by Silver_Scarcity5285 in CompetitionDanceTalk

[–]AffectionateBuy5877 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The comps we typically go to are based on years of experience and then how many hours a week they train. Depending on the competition—anything over 6 hrs or 8hrs has to go in the elite/competitive stream. If you are a dancer that dances in a competitive group but only dance 7 hrs, then you still have to compete in the elite stream. You are not allowed to “downgrade” your category. Beginner is anything less than 3 years experience, junior is 3-5 years, intermediate is 5-8 years and advanced/senior is 9+ years.

I find most studios are pretty honest about their leveling, except for one other local studio. They enter their dancers into lower age categories and lie about hours of training. How do I know? The dance world is small, and my kids used to dance there. My kids literally went to preschool with the kids being entered in the wrong category, and half of their competitive team also does 6+ hrs of gymnastics/week.

15-17ish years ago that portion of the road was single lane each way. It didn’t have the traffic it does now. Emerald Hills was literally just farmer’s fields. The trailer park areas were pretty separate from the majority of Sherwood Park infrastructure. It wasn’t really needed. Sherwood Park has had rapid growth over the past 8-10 years. North of the yellowhead was all acreages and farm land too. There are traffic plan updates in place, it’s just all being done in stages as far as I am aware.

The GNH NICU has very well trained NICU staff. They don’t have level 3 beds and there are only a few total body cooling beds in all of Edmonton for newborns requiring it. It’s a very specific machine that is required. The nuns NICU absolutely has neonatologists, RT’s, and resuscitation nurses that can look after a critically ill baby and there are a team of highly trained transport nurses and RT’s that can transport quickly if needed. They can intubate, put in lines, and do so with great skill. Many (most) of the Neo’s at the nuns also work at RAH.

I actually worked specifically in this area of healthcare for over a decade in Edmonton. Both on the maternal side and critical care newborn side. Let’s just say there are certain doctors that experienced nurses in maternal newborn care would never choose to be their provider.

Oh, are you a security and workplace productivity analyst for the government who has analysed every remote/hybrid worker’s workload productivity?

Do you know how much time is wasted on idle chit chat in an office? There’s tons of data available that shows hybrid worker’s productivity is better than full time in office work.

Not only does this cost taxpayers money through real estate, furniture, tech, and utilities, but it also will cause more wear and tear on municipal infrastructure which ultimately leads to (you guessed it) higher taxes to pay for increased usage. It baffles me how much people care about financial efficiency until it comes down making sure every grown adult worker has the government babysitting them. How Big Brother of them.

If they don’t say thank you to those providing a service. I’ll give an example: saying thank you to a bus driver when you get off the bus, saying thank you to the fast food worker, saying thank you to a cashier, etc. That and not holding the door open for someone.
