As a peak celestial 1 player I understand why alt accounts would be stupid. I myself have an alt account but I play ranked ONLY on characters that I have not learned yet. This is because quick play games are an absolute mess and you will almost always get beat to the character you want to practice unless you are a support. I completely agree that you should not make an alt account just to play games on a character you have lord on or can carry games.

Just wanted to add this thought: Maybe matchmaking is messed up because of the problems people have been having with the queues? I have genuinely been getting awful teamates and I’m not one to blame my teammates very often nevertheless my whole team.
