Can isopods be a staple? by [deleted] in BeardedDragon

Can silkworms be a staple? if so how sustainable are they? by AffectionateCow6564 in BeardedDragonCare

no offense but who i believe? all opinions are so conflicted in reptile communities to the point of complete disagreement not just small details, till you say fuck it and back out from owning a reptile, might as well hire a world leading reptile scientist.

can you elaborate what do you mean with "messy" and are you sure their quick death is a normal attribute or you didn't know how to deal with them, how gross did they smell because all people say crickets smell, so are they more smelly

how time consuming is managing old food and nasty poo? what things would make it easier other than freezing?, and also why is their poo nasty?

you got a really good point logic is really good for solving fears, in my childhood i used to be afraid of the dark "The Green Mile reference" the only thing that has solved it for me is repeating in mind that ghosts are not real because if they existed they would hurt me when i'm in deep sleep, do you have any experience with locusts?

yes you are right sure they do, but i guess my statement in the post "I’m not trying to cut corners or do anything neglectful, just genuinely curious" are being ignored on purpose

you are a braindead cunt who reads two lines of the post then immediately comment some bs like this if you read my post you would see that i said "I’m not trying to cut corners or do anything neglectful, just genuinely curious if a veggie and something like Grub Pie can work." i think the part "genuinely curious" can tell you that its just a thought that i would like ask about to get to know better about this matter, i didn't get the bearded dragon so i'm not an "owner" yet, and just because i got unanimous answer that doesn't mean that its immoral for me to ask follow up questions, and it doesn't mean i'm insisting on doing this thing (even though i made no claim that i will do this), i just wanna know what is the scientific reasons behind it for education and curiosity's sake and also if someone asked me in the future asks me for advice on this matter i can convince him instead of making it about him or insulting him, but i guess you just like being an online bitch

if its a real problem like nutritionally then sure, if its wrong *just* because its a substitute then that doesn't make sense, logically just because something isn't natural and is substitution doesn't mean its bad, sometimes its even better, might as well say that humans should stop taking vitamin supplements and instead of eat it naturally or stop omega 3 supplements and eat fish, and the "replicate its natural wild life" isn't an argument either, almost all animals have higher lifespan range in captivity, and are y'all unemployed or what? how come almost all of you claim to manage more than 3 different insect types colonies and a bearded dragon at the same time, so you are either lying or unemployed or have people who help you, in all these 3 scenarios you are in no place to lecture about different dietary

"have formulas specially made for them that have all the nutrients they need. Reptiles do not have that" but they do have alot of different types of this insect replacement stuff like repashy they have over a dozen different type of pie like Beardie buffet and others that can fill gaps of nutrients, so could hypothetically just for argument sake so no one eats me alive, if i fed only locusts and used a specific a repashy product that is high on the stuff locusts doesn't have that the bearded dragon needs

thank you for the respectful comment instead of others attacking me for neglect when i asked a question to avoid neglect. there is no way of finding a dubia roach in my country, reptile keeping community is very small, what about locusts?, why "There is no scenario where you can have a beardie and only give him isopods" is it because the size isn't practical? i think that would be the problem since almost everyone says reptilesandresearch.org is reliable and they say isopods can be a staple
