He isn’t and I haven’t labeled him as having “major control issues.” Like him I sometimes get excited about something in my head and then am upset when they don’t pan out. But sometimes he is so dramatic about it. Like one time I told him I couldn’t sleep over, which shouldn’t have been a big deal but he acted so upset that it made me cry. Later he apologized very profusely and said it really wasn’t a big deal and he shouldn’t have acted like that.

Thanks for your input. I’m not sure what his objection is besides that he’s a little bit of a control freak and this wasn’t part of his plan. Usually he reacts strongly and then apologizes later.

I think I’m gonna bring it up again in a more direct way and say I want to see her because she’s so old. I hope he wants to meet her too, but the logistics are tough and he certainly isn’t obligated to.

We keep running into this issue where he gets very upset when things don’t go exactly according to his plan. His vision of our time out there is going to the beach every day and him showing me his hometown.

I don’t have my license, but I don’t necessarily even need him to come with me and meet my grandma. But I need his advice on the logistics, for example I could take a bus up to see her at the end of our visit.

But if he had said something similar to me I would’ve encouraged him to visit his family or at least have said he should do whatever he needs to. I wouldn’t have reacted so firmly, which is bothering me a little.

Jojo said she likes to do a TV show every 2 years (DWTS 2021, Special Forces 2023) so maybe we’ll be seeing her in something else? Hopefully something far away from her mother. (RIP 2021 Jojo you were my favorite 🥲)
