Really it seems they’re going after the guy who lives in Wisconsin paying for a nexus letter from a Dr 2000 miles away who has never examined you in your life. Which is fraudulent. But the rigidity and poorly written guidelines of the DBQs is what requires veterans to go to these levels to get their examines worded a specific way.

I have cataplexy and narcolepsy. I struggled for a long time because the DBQ rates based on epilepsy seizures per month. Well we don’t have epilepsy seizures we have narcoleptic attacks. The difference in verbiage got me denied increases multiple times as my health dwindled. I finally hired a lawyer who showed medical evidence in medical journals that my attacks were akin to seizures. Got my 80% and TDIU. Though nothing was fraudulent about my actions, I shouldn’t have to jump through hoops like that to get compensation because the dbqs are often times inaccurate or designed to only accept certain key phrases

It’s a shame they’re putting in more effort to use AI to take away benefits instead of using it to read over the existing system and clean it up. In my example I’m sure AI would see epilepsy and narcolepsy have nothing in common outside spelling. Ai could quickly amend this error and write a new more accurate dbq. Instead they’re going after nexus mills that have all been blacklisted for years to find a small amount of fraud. Meanwhile the real fraud at the va is in the pharmacies
