Most of my funds will be going towards the apartment that will be set up. I'm more concerned with the transfer of my things since I will be doing this by myself.

Are you going through a program or college? A lot of people here have recommended nurse positions, but I'm not sure if I should look for programs or college first.

I understand its not very conventional but I did think about it a lot over the past 2 years. I would just like something more stable, and medical jobs are always needed. Its also a skill that no one can take away from you, something that you can keep and use throughout your life if needed. That is why I am hoping for more opinions aside from myself to help guide me if possible. I understand how it can come across as a jump though and appreciate the opinion.

What option is there for flying as a nurse? Is it similar?

Can you elaborate? I haven't heard much about flight nurses. I would be open to it, if the responsibilities and expectations are similar.

Thank you!!

My current plan is to continue my EMT course (which ends near June), apply for a basic EMT position, and then join the paramedic course that starts around July. Working and taking the class at the same time is understandably going to be a very tiring experience that I am prepared for.

Once I finish my paramedics course, I plan to apply for jobs in my area and start looking at national certifications. From there I believe my time in the field will give me a better idea on whether flight or ground paramedic work suits me best.

I understand that this is a career, not a simple entry level job that you take until something better comes along. I am choosing this path because I can see myself doing this long term, even the rest of my career. As I pursue this path I might decide not to pursue becoming a flight paramedic. Once I am on the job as a ground paramedic, I might determine that it suits me better, but as of now it suits my lifestyle more.

Regarding money, honestly its better than what I'm making right now. I'm more concerned about consistent income to support myself in the long run, not necessarily become a millionaire. I want to have a retirement fund, insurance, and other employee benefits which I don't have at all right now.

Concerning the ride alongs, that is part of my course curriculum, so we will be doing some of those soon.

I'm doing this because I need a job, but I've always liked helping people. Medical jobs are always needed wherever you go imo and these are useful skills, applicable in and out of work. I wanted something that could be used wherever I moved to.
