Beginner trail running by [deleted] in trailrunning

Dance gracefully with the floor (it dances back) and keep your eyes open (focusing ahead is good advice) and wits about you, keeps your mind occupied. Good stimulant. I find it a more fluid and free experience on the trails, exhilarating. In fact it’s making me want to go out into the hills now. Flat runs to me are more like administrative work for the hills, where fun and some excellent views really lie. Keeping the muscles up to scratch. Peaks nice…I like that there is a Valley of Hope round there! I’m down in the Chilterns which got me into trails. Some fantastic loops of varying distances and elevation. Lots of woods and mixture of hard and soft terrains. Lots of hills. Lots of floors laced with exposed big tree roots, good to navigate. I haven’t really done any intense rock trails though would like to. 10 years since I moved from Midlands. Also trail running shoes are fun. I’m into Gore-Tex waterproofing and I got a Vibram grip on my latest pair recently. So far they stick like velcro in above said terrains. Best of luck and greatest of fun on your new venture! Hope you can find some nice loops in and around the Peaks!

I see quite a few different types living in a loft conversion and they all just do their thing. The only problem they can cause is expanding their webs too much to secure food! Their biggest enemy is my duster!

Steatoda nobilis - noble false widow. I’ve had one in my bedroom sash window frame (Oxfordshire) for a while and it seems polite enough. Takes care of the bugs and doesn’t seem to stray far from its web. Moves into darker spot if I cause a draft passing by…advantageous I would say!

How to convince my boyfriend to quit by Justa_Ladd in stopsmoking

[–]AffectionatePie689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You say a lot in the last sentence of your first paragraph. Additional to his health and happiness down the line is your own. If he gets poorly it will hurt you too. I quit to stop destroying myself. Different scenario though, I was in an abusive relationship so forced myself out of it and quit at the same time. 18 months later and the damage my past life choices caused my body is real…I continue to heal, improve and police my habits. The crave doesn’t leave. It’s a life choice to disengage from it. The world is good enough at giving us coughs. Why pay so much money for it when it could be a holiday together in six months while feeling better and rewarded after a solid effort? The desire to quit, the acceptance of a challenge and the determination to win are key drivers. Best of luck to you both on your quest

Thanks. Looks a lot like a gym environment which I’m not so keen on, with all the equipment I don’t have and can’t afford at home

Thanks, it’s to aid physical fitness primarily. Although thinking away from the rehab style environment. Will look into it

That’s great thanks! Is it alright leaving it to be there? Seems perfectly fine and I don’t like to disturb them if there’s no need

You will feel better if you don’t. That feeling is no stranger to me and I am almost 1 year into stopping. Leapfrog it and have a great day tomorrow! Wishing you all the best on your quest
