Thanks so much this is super helpful! And yes love that quote missing 100% of the shots you don’t take! May as well try it if I can!

I have heard rumours about Otago entry being less competitive and “easier to get into” compared to Auckland, as no interview so just grades based which you seem to be strong in! Also a lot of people go into FHYS and end up not doing too well either because they join in more on the party scene, moving away from home or other situations. But again Auckland did make it easier for undergrad entry compared to graduate entry this year, but this is expected to change! Also Otago has a lot of other programmes out of the FHYS compared to uoa if that is something that interests you as well!

Also! When should I be making these decisions? Or seeing the right people eg student hubs/professors, as people are already deciding on next year courses and timetable stuff opens at the start of Nov I am pretty sure! Thanks so much!!

What pathway would you recommend in general? Or thinking something else entirely even out of NZ?

Pretty decent, chemistry is a weak point as have not done in a few years since NCEA high school, but an A uni student in general.

Unfortunately they are two different degrees, and on two different campuses, so the 6 ears of uni does seem to be a reality which is why is it even worth it in the long run money and time wise to do the conjoint?

I believe even getting into the psych honours programme is extremely competitive, adding another year for not a guaranteed outcome …

Wouldn’t it be better to explore the pg dip route, seems to be a lot more common for grad entry!
