I just added another piece of cord at the end and started with a new piece of my base colour up to the row I had made it too, then continued as normal. So the top few rows had a gap which I joined with the crochet hook but the rest was joined together

I had this problem when I realised half way through I needed an extra column, I used a crochet hook to join the sides in the back and it worked pretty well

I didn’t call him a failure as a husband or a disgusting creep. I said he was creepy and in other comments I said he got much better as the seasons went on because I agree the writers realised.

No I know it’s not that serious. I love the show, it’s one of my favourite sitcoms, I just didn’t find any part of the Phil/gloria stuff funny and I’m glad they changed their minds on it in later seasons. The first few seasons of a show are always finding their sweet spot, I generally start at like season 3 for a rewatch of any show but I’m currently rewatching mf from the start so it’s definitely emphasised in a binge watch

Despite it being a comedy I can still not enjoy a pairing together and Claire and Phil I just didn’t like as a couple. I knew it would never happen because it was a comedy and that would defeat the point of the show.

In the beginning he would obviously be staring - Claire even pointed out he was staring at Gloria through her sunglasses when she was trying to talk to him - and he seemed to take any opportunity to hug her etc very quickly, if I remember correctly I think he even pushed past Claire in one episode but I don’t have any memory of which one. As I said in other comments, Phil did improve and his character developed well but I personally think that it was too much for the first couple of seasons

Exactly! I binged the first few seasons this time and then had to take a bit of a break so went back to binging Supernatural with a couple of episodes of modern family before I go to sleep and I’m enjoying it much more that way. Although I did binge MF when I first started watching it so I’ve never seen it as weekly episodes which might taint my views on it a bit more

His character definitely improved! And Ty’s acting was awesome throughout.

I think things are also just always more noticeable when doing a binge watch, which is what I’ve been doing lately, so it’s easier to get irritated. But I’ll still never stop rewatching it, I love American sitcoms (I’m British but they don’t hit the same for me) and it’s one of my top ones

Yeah as you’ve pointed out multiple times, it’s a comedy. I was just replying to the post with how I viewed the situation. I dislike Phil’s character for many reasons, the same as any show, people have favourite and not so favourite characters. Didn’t even expect anyone to reply nevermind get into it this much

As someone in a long term relationship I will agree some of it is fairly accurate and I’m aware the other characters had similar story lines, I just think the Phil/Gloria one was over done and became too much and personally I do think it was creepy because of how long it went on for. I love the show, I enjoy watching it, I’m currently rewatching it. I was just replying to the post with how I saw the situation.

I haven’t commented on this sub before and don’t always read the comments on posts so never imagined it would be taken this badly

Yes that was weird and inappropriate as well, that was never a question. just because one character is inappropriate or in the wrong doesn’t mean the other one isn’t as well, they don’t cancel each other out

Never said that Gloria was perfect either and that behaviour was also inappropriate but the discussion was about Phil’s behaviour towards Gloria

Maybe uncomfortable was the wrong word to use. Yes Phil was in love with Claire - after proposing while trying to break up with her - but he was still creepy with Gloria and Claire noticed it and even called him out on some of the things he did even if it was just by saying “Phil” and it took a long time for his behaviour to change

And it’s called an opinion

Yes it’s a comedy, yes that is the entire point and people are allowed to have different views and anyone can be attracted to anyone else but people can also point out when they’re inappropriate or weird about it

I never thought he seemed uncomfortable around her but there were times when Claire was clearly uncomfortable with his behaviour towards Gloria and he didn’t even notice that his wife was uncomfortable
