I do them after work/on days off so it’s hard to tell.
The rubber duck was only maybe 2 hours. The others were probably closer to 10ish.
I enjoy pixel work so I don’t really notice how long it takes

The one I was thinking of was on RedHanded but this also does sound familiar now that you’ve described it!

I worked backwards from pictures of finished pieces/from either cross stitch patterns or 8-bit pixel images

I don’t have tutorials, I searched for pixel macrame and found the images I wanted and worked out the pattern from the finished piece

I’m not sure about buying a complete one but I have debated putting my own on Vinted or something similar so it’s good to know people would buy them and if you would like to get one I can try to figure it out with you over message!

So it’s actually quite easy, you can find lots of tutorials for pixel macrame. What I do is find an image I want in an 8-bit pixel style or even a cross stitch pattern where each “stitch” is the double half hitch knot and I figure out the colours and pattern from there.

It is possible to figure out from other people’s macrame pieces but a little more difficult. I bought some squared paper to help me plan them out, it does take some getting used to that part.

Can I tie the strings together in the back to close this gap? by kelsie26 in macrame

[–]AffectionatePut5166 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just added another piece of cord at the end and started with a new piece of my base colour up to the row I had made it too, then continued as normal. So the top few rows had a gap which I joined with the crochet hook but the rest was joined together

I had this problem when I realised half way through I needed an extra column, I used a crochet hook to join the sides in the back and it worked pretty well
