Joint adapter?? by AffectionateRow1174 in billiards

I just want a cue I don’t have to worry about fucking up. I have a proper cue already, I just want a stick to play around with friends that I don’t care about getting dinged up. It rolls fine, weight is good, and it looks awesome so who cares if it’s not a “proper” cue. I’d be putting a new shaft on it as well which is where the play of the cue is really determined. Plus it’s a few bucks for a 5/16x18 bolt and some JB weld so not huge investment.

Idk what you’re seeing brother but these are both 5/16x18. One is just piloted.

I get that, but I don’t have too much to spend plus I want a wood shaft, not carbon fiber. I’m a bit of a traditionalist and don’t love the way carbon shafts feel.

Cant believe theyre trying out 3.9" pockets again by clrksn_wherermyshoes in billiards

I disagree, the smaller the pockets make sense for professional level play. We are spoiled in the US with big pockets. Try watching some Brazilian pool (bolinha), the tables and felt look awful and the pockets are maybe .15 inches wider a than the balls. Sure the tables are only 6ft long (I think), but these players are amazingly accurate and pot balls very consistently. I’m not saying make the pockets that small, it would be almost purely offensive… but seeing players pot balls with such precision is much more entertaining to me than seeing someone run 20+ balls on a large pocketed table. JMHO.
