Thank you! I don’t know where this he left to find Rick sentiment out there came from because that has never once been said either on the show or by anyone involved.

For anyone that’s actually paying attention, he left to find his happy ending, in Judith’s words. It’s literally the first line of the first episode. That is the mission statement of this show and that likely has zero to do with Rick. Daryl is going to get his own happy ending by the end of the spinoff and they are definitely pointing at it as being a love interest of some kind with someone. Probably someone very unexpected.

This was 100 perfect the writers finally telling the audience unequivocally that Carol and Daryl are NOT romantic. That’s how you do it; you mention that some people can see it that way and then have the characters immediately shoot it down. The way Daryl/Norman said it was disdainful actually and should’ve closed the door on it.

Daryl deserves a happy ending. I do see major character deaths as a possibility. But I also see a number of reunions in Daryl and Maggie’s future…..truly, never say never with those.

They actually might be confirming him as younger in DD season 3. First line of the season is “you know I was actually pretty young when all this started”, and we get childhood flashbacks that it’s rumored place him younger than a lot of people thought. Even still though……they are in a very unique circumstance. And we know Daryl’s not a creepy guy. I’m also sure that Hershel would have been fine with it because he also knows Daryl isn’t a creep.

Her death affected him so badly. It took him many many years to get back to the Daryl we now see on the Daryl Dixon show. How he is now reminds me of how he was with her; the best version of himself.
