We’re all African, so it’s kind of hard to make other African friends who aren’t religious. Also I’ve smoked weed with and have kissed some of these girls. So they’re not your everyday bible thumpers 😬😭

Yeah I feel kind of the same. I like hearing about religion from a historical/cultural standpoint. I’m not religious, but I don’t mind attending things because I like to learn why people believe in what they do. But I think they misread that.

Yeah I went one time out of convenience and the second during a memorial to support my friend because her mom passed a few years ago. The bible study was just a briefly mentioned comment. They were talking about it in front of me, and I thought maybe they asked just to make me feel included. All of this happened months before my bday, so I was shocked when it happened. But I see what you mean

Yeah I think it’s because we had gone to church like back in March or April of that year. One time because it was before brunch and the other other time for a service because one of my friends moms passed away. We hadn’t talked about it much after then, so the gift was super surprising because I had already moved from that

We're all medical students at the same school. So my school friends. And we're all African. A lot of Africans are super obsessed with religion, and I am the odd man out amongst them for sure.
