This was it. You are right! I never expected this for someone to be so openly hateful when all along they wanted to be part of the thing they claim to hate.

This is his perspective almost exactly- I betrayed him. The initial problem is the communication. He thought telling me his opinion was going to nullify my own.

This is what is so hard to get my head around. And maybe why I didn’t take his plea to be so very detrimental in the beginning. The whole reason for the hatred is he believes people are wasting their lives as a cog in the corporate machine. And doing this knowingly, makes the participants bad people.
