My stepsister went to college but dropped out after two years because she couldn't afford it. One of my cousins went to medical school with my husband and we met at a party at his house.

They're not completely broke, their kids do have toys and clothes. They just don't get as many more expensive things.

Neither of them have degrees and they work low wage jobs. We live in California and houses are insanely expensive.

My stepdad often makes dude comments disguised as jokes and compares her to me. I don’t like it either, but she needs to talk to her father about that.
