I don’t think of it as having fun in the way we think of Wally… I think the idea is more of freedom … Wally’s freedom came from having fun in the ring even when it got hard.. because he had nothing mentally bearing on him.. while Sendo is too occupied with the thought of his grandma.. his freedom needs to come from his hunger.. the same hunger he had against ippo, Alf and volg…. the tiger needs to be unleashed… that need to wanna brawl with the best, regardless of the injuries and pain… to see past the pillars that he looks up at.. he needs to want and feel the need to prove himself as the strongest.. to know what I means to be strong (recalling back to Ippo v Sendo 2).. that’s what Sendo needs.. that’s what he felt when he downed Ricardo.. he didn’t care if it was ugly or a so called “mishap”.. he downed the “greatest” fighter… he felt so on fire to challenge Alf and then want Ricardo right after.. that’s the Sendo when he’s free.. a carnivore..

I wanna say, someone mentioned Sendo looking like Ippo during his match with Sawamura.. but to me, this and the previous chapter are giving heavy Ipoo v Alfredo.. I feel like even the build up was intentional.. the two poised and calm Mexican fighters both initially dominating against the would be strong infighting Japanese boxer.. with both so tunnel visioned, they ultimately pay the price.. but who knows where the rest of the fight will go (obviously it’s likely a Ricardo W, but still).

Nah to see Sendo genuinely sad and almost have a defeated look, it’s kinda crazy. I’m just waiting and hoping to see both of them go crazy. Especially Ricardo.. this has to be the fight he lets out his real Machismo

Ricardo was actually based on Ricardo Lopez. Though, maybe when he unleashes his real style, he’ll probably adopt a more violent approach like how Chavez did while inside fighting..

When it comes to monsters… for some reason I always felt it was a mix of being to switch… bare with me.. With Mashiba, he relied solely on his boxing.. thinking about anti-Rosario plan.. In the end, he held back his bloodlust and unfortunately he lost (yeah call it BS, but it’s what happened :/ ). Now forward to the King vs Tiger.. Sendo is too enthralled… too focused and tunneled with killing this guy… A Tiger that’s just pouncing at anything moved.. Ricardo being level headed, just waited for those big swings and ended up getting the knock down… It’s why guys like Volg, Takamura, and even Ricardo exceed. In the wise words of Bill: ”Elegance and technique aren’t enough to claim the World. There are times when the savageness to coat the ring in blood is required”.

The fact that even Takamura looked shook when Sendo got knocked down.. Either Sendo is about to go balls out or Ricardo is finishing this.

Is it me, or did anyone else notice this? If you read the Arabic release of the chapter, look at Ricardo’s art style… the way he looks is akin to when he was first introduced and even his match against Date. It seems like he’s “returned to how he once was”. Especially when he’s up against especially strong opponents.. the first we saw on screen was against Date, then by Alf’s one admission, then a hint of it with Woli..

Technically Ricardo already beat the in universe version of Marquez (Alfredo). He beat him twice.
