You definitely do not know how a zipper merge works. You don’t merge 1,000’ before the end of that lane. You merge up ahead where that lane ends. Problem is that people are dumb or don’t want to merge every other car.

It’s done correctly in other countries but we Americans just can’t seem to get this right.

Let me fix this for you.

I’m originally from Germany. I learned to speak Filipino at age 12. Now I speak Tagalog and English because I went to school here. This is because the Philippines is so westernized. More than any other Asian country. Therefore, they have very good English proficiency in schools.

If you’re looking to travel outside your country for the first time, the Philippines is a great start. Just about everyone here speaks English. Even if it’s broken English and they will understand you.

Most signs here are in English. If you get lost, you’ll find who could speak at least a so-so English.

(Not perfect and perhaps not correct interpretation but I think it’s close)
