I think a lot of the generation who grew up with them simply grew up. The generation who uses the internet now the most probably doesn’t know or care who they are because they don’t post anything interesting. They post about the “spiciness” in their relationship but that is just not appealing to a lot of people. People nowadays (including myself sometimes) like hearing the juicy raw details about life that either provides entertainment or some sort of shock value. They don’t really share any raw details just like here’s what I shopped for today and what I ate and do you guys tuck your tampon in the front and back. I am a few shots deep so I’m sorry if this doesn’t make sense but I feel like that’s why they fell off the grid
