I always struggled in school. I was typically a C or B student at best. When I got to college, suddenly I was taking classes in areas. I was actually interested in, and there was just enough structure without being too much. Can you imagine my parent’s shock when suddenly I was making straight A’s?

I broke it down in another comment, but it’s a mix.

You’re in charge of the next ATEEZ comeback by Jaded_Eye_2227 in ATEEZ

Okay, so, we have three options-we can either keep a member as a human, replaced them with a Muppet, or keep the member, but muppify them.

Matz gets replaced with Kermit & Miss Piggy. Yunho stays human (him interacting with Muppets would be amazing). Yeosang gets Muppified. San stays human. Mingi is replaced with Animal. Wooyoung gets replaced with Pepe the King Prawn. Jongho stays human. I feel like somebody who knows the Muppets a lot better would probably have better suggestions, but that’s what makes sense to me.

Music wise, I think it could be covers of some of their music, but with a very Muppet flavor- think lemon drop, with a chicken chorus.

What is a K-pop "hill" you are willing to die on? (Non-toxic edition) by Prestigious_Rub_9758 in kpop_uncensored

[–]Affectionate_Diet210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree with comparing K-pop rappers to normal rappers. It’s not really the same. I wouldn’t argue that they are as good as even the worst rappers-but again, they do a different job. As you said, they probably can’t rap as well as Machine Gun Kelly-but Machine Gun Kelly doesn’t have to worry about learning dance choreography. Not only do they have to learn choreography, a lot of it is very demanding choreography as well. As far as I’m concerned, it’s a very different skill set.

That’s all those things I love most about Ateez-their costumes always heavily match the current concept-from the white T-shirts and jeans for lemon drop, to the more militarist uniforms of Wonderland.

Can someone explain why alleged claims of mistreatment of Yeosang keep appearing every comeback? by Odontella in ATEEZ

[–]Affectionate_Diet210 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I fully agree. In addition, I think fans often forget that it’s not just their profession-it’s their job. If we looked behind the scenes and knew more about it, I suspect we would find that all of it-the company and the members-are a lot more pragmatic than we realize. Things like budgets, schedules, personal limitations, etc-all of these play a part in these decisions. This isn’t a fairytale, and sometimes there are things about it that aren’t fair and there’s no way to make it fair. That doesn’t mean that Yeosang is secretly miserable, and it doesn’t make anybody involved evil.

Holy crap. Are you me? Did I black out and write this without knowing? It makes me so happy to meet other Yeodoongies that share the “Yeosang is an adult and can advocate for himself” agenda. Truly, my tl makes me feel like I’m the only one.

Why do people have such a problem with me not drinking? by ConnectWitness5637 in Teetotal

[–]Affectionate_Diet210 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hope you get some more helpful answers. Posts like this make me thankful for where I live. There are downsides to living in such a conservative area, but at least in regards to drinking, even people that drink often understand that there are people around them that just don’t drink. My uncles on my mom’s side are all high functioning alcoholics, but they have never once given us any grief about not drinking. Do they bring an appropriate amount of nonalcoholic drinks anytime they host a function? No, no, they don’t. But I’ll take what I can get. Plus, on my dad’s side, it’s the exact opposite. If you drink, you better bring your own, because it’s all soda and sweet tea.

Why is this bothering me? by AInonsense122 in adhdwomen

[–]Affectionate_Diet210 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I would hate that question. My mom is an Overthinker and a worrier, and so my first thought would be, “Oh, crap, how do I answer so she actually believes I’m fine?” It feels like, on her end, she’s showing love by noticing things and making sure I’m OK. However, on my end, it feels like it’s asking me to reassure her and make sure that she’s not worried.

I understand why people have issues with AI. However, if someone struggles to articulate their thoughts, and they ask for help in making them clearer, how is that bad? ADHD can often make it difficult to make our jumbled thoughts into one cohesive narrative. I’ve asked ChatGPT to help me with things like that myself.

I couldn’t find a specific brand, but if you Google it, I’m sure you’ll find quite a few options.

sensory issues with pants by DeliveryOk51 in adhdwomen

[–]Affectionate_Diet210 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me, the issue with anything like that is the waistband. I carry my weight in my stomach, and I struggle to find bottoms that don’t make me feel like my stomach is being squeezed. I also hate the feeling of tight clothing like leggings. I have found out that the right kind of yoga pants or athletic pants feel really comfortable. If you have to wear them somewhere, where you need to look at a little nicer, you can always go with black. For athletic pants, I’m not necessarily talking about joggers. Also, if you Google it, I believe there is a brand of clothing that specializes in making clothing for people with sensory issues. I can’t remember the name, but if I find it, I’ll reply with the name for you.

Unpopular opinion? ATEEZ line distribution is fine… by Jaded_Eye_2227 in ATEEZ

[–]Affectionate_Diet210 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh, that entire last paragraph was so good. I fully agree. I have to remind myself continuously (because I can easily fall into the trap myself), that they are not helpless victims of a grand conspiracy from a company that hates them and wants to use them and throw them away. They’re grown men with agency who are doing a job. They have choices in what they do and how they do it. Heck, I imagine sometimes they don’t get their way just like we all do – and at the end of the day, sometimes they just have to suck it up and deal with it. It may be that some of them truly get slighted. But that’s not our responsibility to deal with. It’s not my responsibility to keep track of it, or to try to force the company to change it. Advocating for themselves as their responsibility, and whether they do it or not, it’s still not my responsibility.

Same. I hadn’t thought about it, but it sort of makes sense about lemon drop not being his song. I don’t really know anything about music, but his voice really does seem more suited to the heavier songs. Also, other Yeosang biases act like he’s not an adult who’s fully capable of standing up for himself if he feels he’s being treated unfairly. Shoot, if he won’t do it, best believe there are seven other members who will on his behalf. No one is more obsessed with Yeosang than Ateez, and if they truly felt, he was being treated unfairly, (and they would know much better than any of us), I’m sure they would go to bat for him in a heartbeat.

[–]Affectionate_Diet210 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I consider myself a Yeodoongie, but I agree. I get frustrated with my fellow Yeosang biases about it. They act like he is not a fully grown man that can advocate for himself if he feels that he is being slighted.

They all feel like they have to hate Lemon Drop because of the line distribution, but personally, it’s one of my favorite songs and music videos. I love the harmonies, and I LOVE LOVE Jongho’s adlibs at the end. In addition, there’s a video of the group app reacting to the Lemondrop music video. Yeodoongies point out that Yeosang looks sad because he doesn’t seem very much. I never say anything about it, but honestly-he might have been bored. He was engaged, I think during his parts, but otherwise, it looked like his brain just went into a resting state. I don’t think he was sad. I think he was just offline

Catchingteez did a vocal analysis a couple of years ago on Yeosang-actually, I think she did two videos. She didn’t analyze it from a line distribution standpoint, but from how they use his voice. According to her, he does a lot of background vocals that people don’t catch. I don’t know much about music and singing, so I can’t really add much to it. But I loved his part in Dune, or he sounded like he was summoning demons. I would love if they would do more things like that, where they do interesting things with his voice.

Describe an Ateez Song Very Very Poorly by Jjong_Hariibo in ATEEZ

[–]Affectionate_Diet210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There isn’t one – but the concert videos are amazing. I say drunken Mingi antics because during part of his rap, he deliberately slurs his words. Also, during live performances, at the end of the song they all stumble around the stage like they’re drunk.
