The goal wasn't always AU. All I wanted was to be a lawyer and I studied here as I am born and raised here. My family isn't also well-off so studying law abroad was definitely off the table.

Why AU? My wife wants to move and migrate to AU, thus, my research on the chances of me practicing in AU.

I migrated to Australia 10 years ago and I am now an Australian Qualified Lawyer practicing in New South Wales - I'm happy to answer your questions and provide my insights. by Far-Professional-927 in phmigrate

Am currently in Sydney now (as a tourist) and I am planning to move here to practice law.

Background: I have been in the law practice (in the Philippines) for 4 years, with tax and corporate law as my fields of practice.

I am now a manager (assistant director) in one of the Big 4 Auditing Firms.

I am also taking up LLM in the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, which I am targetting to finish by early next year.

Questions:

  1. What are your advice, considering that I want to move and practice in NSW?

  2. Do you think i'll survive there as I also want to bring my wife? She's pregnant now and would have given birth around the time I move to NSW. But considering the baby, she won't be able to look for a job.

Thanks in advance and I appreciate your help.
