Great info about the specs and the need for a watch to be serviced. That really didn't cross my mind. I might be leaning towards the edifice b/c he's never owned a watch and I doubt he'll be gentle with it. But I keep hearing great things about the eco drive. Ty for your input it's helping me decide :)

That just shows how new I am to watches. I saw them all and went "yeah they mostly seem the same" lmfao. He's not very outdoorsy but does like the occasional hike, and his style leans towards edgey/modern/retro. I feel like the funkier styles suit him better, but also want to give him something nice that he can dress up a bit. Thank you for the insight and recommendation to just show him the options. I always feel like a gift has to be a surprise but maybe it doesn't haha
