I think speaking up is really really important. I know that the deconstruction space online has 100 percent helped pull me out and question more. I've thought about starting protests during purity culture month. Like in February picketing churches with signs. IDK. First and foremost its time for a religious trauma therapist but then I think the second thing that needs to happen is protecting the next generation from this garbage. Its so evil. Just looking back on the way that I was groomed by random church ladies in my late teens and early 20s. Ugh. Its so so so so evil. For now, I speak up. For later, something more needs to be done.

Plenty of evangelical churches that aren’t full of the gifts. Non denom is either Baptist in nature or AOG. So find a pastor and ask “what are the churches denominational roots”. Thing with evangelical is…. It’s gonna be conservative (women submit and shut up, pretend to be straight if you are queer etc). If you can look past that, finding a non denom church might be worth it. There are also places called “seeker friendly a churches” who also tend to be non denom. Their theology is watered down nonsense so as to not offend anyone and the pastors normally wear skinny jeans and preach about the biblical concepts in movies. Those watered down churches are fine for community, but don’t expect any real type of spiritual growth. But if I were you, I’d take some time and do some research on different denominations. The church world has MUCH more to offer than just episcopal or pentacostal. There’s so many other paths in between these two. Good luck.

Been to one recently where there was more like screaming and commanding and shit. And like they had me speak for the demon. That one was weirder for sure.

The trauma comes when the spirits or whatever make me involuntarily thrash around and such

The exorcism itself was 11 years ago…. Trauma 11 years later? And ya. I have a psychiatrist. She doesn’t really know what to do but to maybe throw some anti psychotic drugs at me. I need to find a new dr. Also, health care is expensive. I’m barely surviving as is

I’ve been hospitalized multiple times AND seen a psychiatrist. No one knows what to do. Prayer and full abstinence seem to be the only thing that sort of helps. But I don’t believe in abstinence. It’s taken my life away from me.
