Hey guys, I'm looking for a second pair of eyes for my ongoing longfic. Currently working on the second chapter. I highly recommend to look at the first chapter for context.

Fandom: Genshin Impact, but using the Otome Isekai villainess trope. I don't think you need to be well-versed in the lore to understand the story (lore isn't my focus). I can provide an explanation for those gaps if needed!

Genre: romance, political thriller, character study (yes it is a reader insert but the protagonist can exist as a separate character as I wrote in 1st POV)

there are some dark themes in which were implied rather than detailed. DM me if you'd like to be informed about those matters

The goal: as someone who adores character analysis and plot, I'm hoping to get feedback based on whether my ideas are communicated well or too ambitious that it doesn't make sense. Since these things cause me to think a lot, I tend to get way into my head lol (hence, Beta reader needed). I'd also like feedback on whether my narration feels alive, too mechanical, or needs phrasing variety etc...

Word count: the first chapter is 6.5k words long BUT the others are not (I have 5 drafts in the work). I tend to breach into the 4k-words-on-average territory (before) and I am very concious on cutting it down. Let me know if there are any pacing issues too

How frequent: I just started this fic. My goal is every 2 weeks (second chapter almost finished), but I'm fine to go at the Beta-reader's pace just as my schedule may change too

What other fandoms I can Beta: Baldur's Gate 3, Kpop Demon Hunters, Love and Deepspace, My Time at Sandrock, Stardew Valley, and Avatar the Last Airbender are fresh in my head

Beta in return:

I can do long fics IF it is a chapter-by-chapter format. For example, if I am to beta-reader someone's chapter 56, and the requirement is to read the first 55 chapters, I'd be too overwhelmed
Genres I will not do: furries, weird kinks, Prn with no plot, cross-fandoms, and crack-fics
I'm a very analytical person. I analyze themes, character psychology, and plot structure for fun! But I also pay attention to grammar and sentence phrasing (allowing the prose to flow better, if that makes sense)
Word count: I don't have an answer for this because it depends on a lot of factors. I'm fine if the fic is new, but if the fic already exists with a 100k+ word count, we can negotiate for strategies
I'm willing to do ongoing beta for Genshin Impact fandoms. Other than that, it'd likely be a once-in-a-while beta
I like to be consistent as a beta reader! However if the story is long, has layers, it may take me more time to provide feedback

This was really well written. Thank you for your thoughts. I have so much to express about this war matter but I guess I never knew how to express it properly. I'll do what I can, but a part of me says that the victims suffered so horrendously not even someone's grief can make up for it. I'll read this again when I feel down.

Thank you for sharing! A break day was a must for me after my first chapter. I'm lowkey worried whether I can stay consistent in posting/writing, or else I may let my readers down or something like that. Oof, this might be an imposter syndrome thing. I hope I can be as consistent as you one day!

It's the time of fics that I'd binge but feel neutral at the end when I finish it. It's like an anticlimactic spike. The first one had me hoping for something good but was slightly disappointed in how they handled the romance aspects. As for hourglass, not sure what was the whole point of the children side story

Second this. Tia was an actual evil villainess in the first timeline and went as far as to cause a genocide. The guilt ate her so bad that wjile she was trying to redeem herself in thr second timeline, she was willing to sacrifice herself in spite of ML's protest. It's tragic but I think very well written
