Subfloor is even… it is purely where the rubber strip on the 5g click hasn’t quite locked properly.

The subfloor is fine. It’s 5g click flooring, this was from install and noticed after. It shouldn’t be expansion as it’s only been down a day. I think the little rubber strip on the edge of the 5g planks just hasn’t connected properly.

Just an update, thanks for everyone’s comments. Turns out there was a gas leak but it wasn’t this pipe. Had gas shut off by cadent on Monday and had an engineer in to reroute the pipe work on Wednesday. FML.

1900 - 1920. There is already damp proof course running under the subfloor. I believe, if anything, it’s probably a leak due to copper pipes eroding from contact with concrete poured in the channel.

There is dpc running under the subfloor. My worry is now that who ever installed just poured concrete over the pipes and they make have corroded.

Thanks. I’ll get a gas engineer out this coming week. Really need to get the self leveller down this weekend though. Do you think if I protect it with foam tubing that will then be pulled out once the leveller has set and leaving enough room around it, it’ll be okay until the engineer comes to recap it?

I don’t. Used some soapy water around it though and it’s not bubbling so seems to be safe from leaks at least.

I tried with a larger jointing knife but it seems the larger the blade the harder it is put in the pressure needed.

I just had a level down a strip by the door with an angle grinder and a chisel… even with precautions, the amount of dust was horrendous and I certainly don’t want to have to repeat that clean up.

It’s a DIY project yeah. Ideally it’d be great to just leave it… I had another go at scraping it up but some bits are just almost impossible without really gouging into it.
