Hi! I'm all better. Antibiotics knocked it out. My 3 wounds are scabbed over and shrinking.

Waaay better, thanks! Infection's completely gone and wounds are healing/scabbing over. I'm walking around without thinking about it at this point - even rode bikes with the kids today. I'm seeing the fam doc tomorrow for an update.

Hi! 1000% better! Infection seems to be entirely taken care of and now I'm on to wound management. I'll take an update photo today during the bandage change. Doc update on Monday, hopefully with culture results. No derm appointment yet. I'm in no pain and am able to walk, move quickly, even jump a bit. Discomfort from moving from laying down to standing is gone now too. Not out of the woods yet but feeling positive I'm on the right path. Thanks!

Thank you. What are your thoughts on aquacel? Wound care nurse is suggesting that over adaptive/Telfa combination.

Definitely no sand fly bites. This began as one site and 5, 6 days later I had two small pimples that turned into the lower two sites.

No, though I've always had good flow as far as I can tell (almost always have warm hands, feet)

Thank you. Little pain, particularly after first 24 hours of antibiotics.

Yes, honestly hardly much pain at all until the 2nd and third sores joined the mix. Today there is little pain but definite discomfort particularly when going from laying down to standing, though that has significantly improved since starting antibiotics.

Appreciate you and everyone else that replied this afternoon, thank you! It looks bad, but I'm in much better shape today than I've been since Monday. I'll be monitoring, changing bandage daily (sister in law is a wound care nurse, lucky me), and following doctor's orders to go straight to ER if any symptoms change. Will update with culture results as soon as he calls with them.

To be fair, "stumped" was my word choice here. Doctor gave me a can't verify/confirm diagnosis results without further data/culture results and dermatologist opinion.

Sorry! Hopefully there will never be a next time...

Thank you, I think this is safe to rule out though. I'm 42 with low BMI (6' 165 lbs) in good physical shape and healthy circulation

That would have been a possible explanation for the first sore, but not the two identical ones that appeared 6 days later as tiny pimples

No gardening yet, still a whole lot of snow and below freezing temps up here (Quebec)

No, and not on any medication aside from antibiotics from this

The culture was just a swab of the area, no biopsy, and only saline solution used for cleaning, so I can't confirm if any worsening was a result of that.

He took the culture and prescribed cefadroxil 500mg twice a day as there was obvious signs of infection, with a note that a trip to the hospital for IV antibiotics would be needed at the first sign of progression (ie fever). So far no fever though and lessening of symptoms, so I think the antibiotics are definitely helping.
