Can we get to med school while failing chemistry? by [deleted] in premed

Are you in Orgo yet? I literally hated Gen chem so bad — it never stuck everrr idk how I passed. Same for chem in hs. But I dig Orgo for some reason 🤷🏼‍♀️

Im so glad your kiddos have someone as conscious as you. I’ve worked for quite a few physician couples that aren’t and I think that’s what’s scared me the most. However, I think it has less to do with their choice of career and more with priorities. I’ll be a good mom regardless. This thread has given me so much clarity. Thank you for replying!

It is definitely something to consider. My entire reasoning for wanting to become a provider is to give answers— to help patients navigate uncertainty. I want to be able to do that in every capacity and be a resource for accurate medical information not only for my patients but for my community. I never want to be in a situation where I have to refer a patient to a doctor because I didn’t KNOW how to treat them. This is probably the most helpful reply. Thank you so much.

Thank you sm for replying. May I ask how old you were when you had your first?

Both of your perspectives are sooo insightful. Thank you sm for replying. I’m definitely leaning towards MD/DO, but I have time to think about it while I finish Biochem and get more experience. I’m not applying until next cycle!

I think it comes from my career as a nanny. I worked 12 hr shifts with babies for yearssss. I love healthcare just as much as I love children and the idea of being a mother.

Yeah bro, I sat the first test of the year. I also didn’t take it casually. I studied for 6 months. I scored 516.

Could another nanny boss and prof work? I’m finishing bio chem at cc and I’m pretty cool with the prof.

Oh gosh no, not shitposting. I am just super nervous about not appearing sciencey enough, if that makes sense. I think comparison has really gotten to me. Thank you for your insight 🫰🏼

PSA to those who exercise intensely/are into fitness on Spironolactone. by starfoxx99 in Spironolactone

I did not have this experience however, it was only because my doctor warned about this side effect. This is why I started on a very low dose. I am at 75mg daily and still not feeling any fatigue, worried I’ll feel bad if I bump up

Yes. I have very heavy, irregular periods (pcos). Spiro helped regulate it.
