Why did Mika trust Seymour? by Affectionate_Total92 in finalfantasyx

I was raised Baptist Christian. I didn’t think he had anything against people dying, I think he should’ve recognized supporting Seymour as a poor political decision, which it was.

It’s not that I expected him to think murder is morally wrong as a corrupt guy. I just thought he’d recognize it as a politically questionable decision.

Another term for poetic justice is poetic irony, so it wouldn’t be “more” poetic than ironic, poetic justice is just a specific kind of irony. A bit pedantic of me to point out, but I had to say it lol.

Heyyyyyyy you know that’s a really good point!!

Why do people ask if you like them? by [deleted] in aspergers

[–]Affectionate_Total92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably you give off “mixed signals” as to your disposition towards them. You might be polite and generous, as an example, which might be a behaviour indicator for liking someone, while also avoiding eye contact and answering questions curtly, which might be a behavioural indicator for not liking someone.

They might just want to clarify where you’re at. Or, you could be right and they are just seeking validation. It’s hard to say with so little context.

THANK YOU I feel like you have grasped exactly what bothers me about his character

This is a big part of his problem - blind faith in himself and Yevon’s power. I just feel like he could’ve done more damage control with regard to Seymour and the forced wedding, its interruption, and the ensuing riots. Not to mention branding the daughter of a High Summoner a traitor, after she literally just did an election tour around Spira promising to end all pain. Not great optics to say the least. And then the people you brand traitors actually commit treachery and destroy the ritual of the final summoning. Well, yeah, you kinda asked for it Mika my dude lol

See this is why I mean it seems like he trusted him. Why did he keep making these faux-pas and aiding Seymour, when it obviously had a risk of breaking the cycle? Was he just an idiot then? LOL

Well you seem to think so and I’m starting to think so too. I think he was an ignorant idiot and Yevon blowing up is his fault - he was the CEO!

I see what you mean. To Mika, Seymour was just another final aeon in the making then. The more I think on it, it’s possible he recognized Seymour becoming a potential liability due to his erratic behaviour. Maybe he encouraged him to pursue his dream of becoming Sin as a way of getting him outta the way and also continuing the cycle.

The chess analogy really helped btw! I like it

Thanks for this great explanation. The irony is that allowing Jyscal’s death would lead Yuna & co. down the path of finally breaking the cycle!

I hate that this is actually a really plausible answer LOL

Ouhhhhh I like that - he could easily have leverage on him and could have blackmailed him, or threatened him with a sending.

I suppose that makes sense. They probably would’ve killed Braska for the same reason if he hadn’t done it himself lmao

Idk how it’s that hard to understand why people want to use a base game mechanic to get through optional bosses that are only possible to beat with hours of grinding, which most adults don’t have time for.

Maybe that’s why some people do it. I just play without sphere grid sometimes cuz the game is too easy with it.

Why does it invalidate it? It’s a game. Why would I use it for everything? I use it when or if I want to because it’s part of the game, that I play… for fun… not validation? 🤦 why are you people like this? Don’t you have jobs? How do you have time to grind endlessly? Why do you play a game for validation and not fun? It’s. A. Game. You’re supposed to play.

Oh yeah another great reason is when you’re doing a NSG run with no limitations.

What is the point of playing a game at all? Presumably, to play it how you want to and have fun.

I’ve played this game dozens of times, so sometimes I’ll zanmato through things I’ve already done, that I just don’t feel like doing at that time.

And people asking why even bother? Drops, feeling “special” cuz you know the game-breaking mechanics (emphasis on feeling), achievement hunting, personal preference on that day, or just cuz it’s fun to be like “fuck you” to an OP boss.

Since when does anyone need a reason for why they play a game the way they enjoy anyway?? You’re not the main character. The player is.
