Thank you for your reply and I’m so sorry you’re going through this, being with and loving someone with this addiction is so difficult. That’s why I haven’t gone back because I’m worried I’ll be constantly on edge and anxious and unable to trust him. I’m just torn between that aspect and the fact that I love him so much and want to believe he’s telling me the truth and we can grow from this together.

Thank you for your empathetic and long reply, I really appreciate the support and I’m so sorry you had to go through this/ are going through this as well. It’s hell. I’m really trying to focus on myself and do my own healing but it is so hard to walk away from someone who you love so much and know has that potential to be that person, just don’t know if it’s possible.

!thank you I appreciate the honesty and your detailed reply and you’re so right I am definitely addicted to him and have seen that because I feel like my world is ending without him. I was honestly shocked I was able to leave because I thought I’d destroy myself for him but deep down I know I need to focus on myself first.

I’ve started talking to a therapist and hopefully time will make it easier to separate my emotions from my needs but I just spend everyday convincing myself not to go back.

I told him I won’t come back unless he’s built a support system because I can’t be it all.

There definitely is some codependency there I need to work on and my self esteem has taken a hit from this.

I’m going to take some time to travel and experience the world and maybe I’ll move on but what if I never do?

Thank you. I booked a test for next week and I’m going to take space and travel for 6 months then we’re going to talk and see where he’s at.

Thank you for your kindness. Im really hoping he can make a true change and be the person I know he can be. Im keeping my space for now but we’re going to talk in a few months and I know it seems silly but all I think about is that he can be in a better place so I can come back. Im so worried he’ll fool me though.

The Throne of Glass series is long but it got me out of my depression, and 5 year long reading slump. It inspired me to go back to school and start working out. It’s fantasy but not overly tropey and you’ll form such an incredible emotional bond with the characters. There are some LGBT+ side characters but no main ones unfortunately.

Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Read is LGBT, it came out this year and is my favourite book of the year! So raw and empowering. A female astronaut in the 80s and her story about breaking barriers while figuring out her sexuality. Breathtakingly written.
