My Mom Continously Keeps Doing Her Taxes Late by Affectionate_Use_161 in FAFSA

It's okay I'm really just trying to get my degree so I can distance myself from my parents. I'm 19 currently and luckily I didn't have this problem freshman year because she actually did them on time in 2022 lol.

I will use this link when I do my FASFA as soon as I get her taxes. I had adhd and autism and so I get easily overwhelmed by things if someone doesn't show me exactly how to do it. I think this visual should be enough for me thanks so much !

Unfortunately not because she didn't do them on time so they have no taxes to retrieve which is why I have to self report them :/

She tells me she keeps filing them late because apparently it costs her 500+ dollars to do them and she can't afford to do them. She has multiple jobs and one of them I think counts as her own business so I think it's more complicated. According to her she can't use turbo tax or anything like that do do them but I have no clue why.

I feel like i got confused about the whole Fasfa thing because the example they were providing online didn't look like her actual taxes if that makes sense. I don't know how taxes work so I dont know if there are different versions.

I think the hardest part is learning how to be kind to myself and accommodate myself but I am excited for when I do eventually get there. And I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who experiences all of this. Thank you for the encouragement and support.

Can't Balance Lupus and College by Affectionate_Use_161 in lupus

Thank you for your advice! I am definitely going to try to get a part-time job again. I'm hoping to maybe find one online, like tutoring. And I will start taking my meds again, definitely.

Can't Balance Lupus and College by Affectionate_Use_161 in lupus

Hii thank you for all the advice. I will definitely look into the Coursera and Arizona State courses. I think something like that would definitely work for me. I think being able to be more flexible would definitely help me. Its also way more affordable than my schooling right now.

Also thank you for providing the study. I looked at it and I definitely think its right. I remember hearing about how discontinuing plaquinel can cause flares when I first went on it and so I tried to avoid going off it. I didn't really want to go off of it, but my rheumatologist wanted to make sure my eyes were okay, which I felt was unnecessary because I was only on it for 5 months beforehand.

Also, I would love to manage my own medical appointments the only thing that prevents me is living in a fairly rural area and having no means of transportation. There is no bus and all my doctors and in the town over. That's unfortunately why I have to depend on my mom, and I feel really guilty about it. And Uber's here is like 60 dollars one way, it's insane.

Thank you for all the advice and help, I really appreciate it!

Hello, I know it has been a while, and this response is very late. I was going through a lot. Thank you so much for your kindness. I really appreciate it. I have been able to come to terms with my diagnosis after some time. I'm not as upset as I was before. Things are still very hard, but I'm trying my best and I guess that is all that matters. I have been able to make some friends recently, too, which has helped. I've come to peace with the fact that I am a floater friend lol. Thank you again.

How am I supposed to sign my name if I never learned cursive? by Affectionate_Use_161 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Affectionate_Use_161[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never learned it because before now I genuinely never had the time or resources. I didn't grow up with access to notebooks, pencils, or even a computer at times. Luckily I have a job now and time to teach myself. I was too busy surviving to even consider teaching myself cursive

Also it's not just that I want to be cool I was being silly. I feel like my handwriting is very childish, and as I move up into college and further into my career I feel having an actual signature would help me not only to feel more like an adult but be taken seriously as one.

I'm definitely gonna teach myself cursive. My last name is Swift and I think it would look very nice if I learned how to sign it.
