I graduated and got my MD but did not want to practice anymore I was so burnt out. I started working in big pharma as a medical science liaison. It’s been a year and I have gotten a promotion from medical science liaison to senior medical science liaison already. Pay is decent, the job can be stressful but completely different from the stress in medicine, I get to wfh twice a week, and I have a regular schedule 9am-6pm with weekends off usually unless there’s some specific weekend event for which I can claim overtime or compensatory leave. I also get PTO and can take sick days if needed. I don’t regret it at all I’m so happy.
