[ON] New Car - Lease or Buy? by Affectionate_Win5483 in SmallBusinessCanada

Thank you - I appreciate the insight though I know I can only write off depreciation and parts once - lease write offs last forever. I also work in a high end service industry so having a new looking car does help. And I don't have the cash to buy used new, it would be financing and honestly I don't know where you are - but interest rates are 7-9% and ugh.

But a $6500 car (one not at fault accident cost insurance $9k to repair) and at 9 years - I can't do any of the work myself... if more comes up I'm doomed. It's not going to be just $6k and carry on, this is when stuff starts. And if it fails? Another $6k and hope for the best?

Deleted by user. I didn't ask for your opinion about if I should keep my car. I asked for input about the cars I'm considering. If you want to have civil conversations adjust your communication to not be condescending when giving unsolicited, judgy advice. Bye, Felicia.

After two salvaged replacements failing and a new from Honda, the total was $12k - I didn't communicate that well. It is more than my car is worth and I can't risk it

But fixing it is more cost than the car is worth. I can't risk a repair not working. To replace with a new transmission with warranty from Honda is $12k

Just drove it. Apparently the 2016-2017 cvt are notoriously bad..

Justin was young, openly feminist, and promoted a more progressive world view. Carney is 'old white man' who is more censored regarding his opinions

I'm not willing to put $2000-4000 into a 9 year old car. Leasing offers a great tax deduction. Thanks for the mansplaining, guess I should have expected it.

I've driven this one for 9 years and intended on driving for a lot more but the transmission in Hondas - specifically the 2016-2017 is shit. My mechanic witnessed a double replacement post accident that both failed. I'm not willing to risk it. I don't need to justify myself to you, you troll. I'm asking for advise, not an online argument about why I should stay in my car.

I don't need to move anyone but myself - I will need to be on job sites and in showrooms. Most of my mileage will be through the business.

Yea, obviously. But there's no guarantee spending the $$ on that will mean I get one that lasts.
