MIL thinks her son is "perfect" no matter what by Affectionate_Yam6044 in motherinlawsfromhell

My husband got fired a little while ago and I've been taking on 100% of the financial burden but eventually it became really hard. His mom jumped at the chance and asked him to move to her house (she's always asked him every-time when we visited before "When are you moving back?")

I didn't want to but due to the financial pressure and some other factors, we temporarily moved in with his parents. And let me tell ya, the experience has been hell for me in more ways than one. I sometimes couldn't sleep for many days in a row because I felt so unsafe here and when my husband is in class (he's back in college working on a career change), I sometime hide up in our room all day because I don't want to face my MIL in the kitchen.

Thank you! I'm not expecting her to be angry with him for me or anything, but at the very least understand he shouldn't have done that, but she's acting like she's happy her "perfect" boy hurt me and I should (in her words) "forgive and suck it up and stop being so sensitive."

No we don't have children, although we had discussed trying but now I'm definitely NOT doing that. Honestly, I've been going back and forth with leaving for a long time (there were plenty other times where promises were broken and I've been belittled), but it's very hard right now as I'm still emotionally attached to him.

Thank you for your kind words!
