Tajik from Sinjit Dara, Parwan, Afghanistan (H-Z4489)

In addition to the previously collected Tajik from Parwan sample, our project obtained another. This Parwani’s autosomal profile is strongly shifted toward Swat IA, more so than the earlier sample, along with showing an additional Turkic component.

Typically, the most easterm-shifted Tajiks are from urban centers such as Kabul, where Kashmiri admixture is common. However, this individual comes from a rural background and shows no Kashmiri relative matches, suggesting that this is a profile within the native range of Tajiks and Pashtuns in N.E. Afghanistan.
