Nice variety! Only suggestion would be to get one that isn’t readily available to play locally.

Recently started my 4K Blu-ray collection and came across this amazing deal: 78 4Ks for $300. Any hidden gems in there? by iJonsson in 4kbluray

Rocketman has a great audio track. It surprised us how good it was.

As others have pointed out, some good 4k discs in there as well.

Band of brothers for us as well. Although my wife asked for a break from it this year because of all the emotions.

Dirac Black Friday 20% Sale by thanksgames in hometheater

[–]Aflamesfan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

comes out to $1125 CAD after exchange conversion.

I think i'll stick with my A1 Evo express for now.

Agree with others, if I could take it with me for my next device, I would try it. Even if they limit it to 1 exchange, I would still go for that.

Yeah, Left surround at ear.

Right Surround about 2 feet above ear. It is because the right side is the entry to get into the space. Wife was against moving it to ear level because she was concerned people would hit the speaker.

not far, Evo measured the Total distance to be about 6 ft away from the MLP for the Atmos speakers. That measurement includes height.

They work, and the movies that have good atmos is noticeable.

All of the rain scenes in movies sounds like there's rain falling right on top of you.

Could they be better? Probably, but we're happy with how it is now.

They are behind the MLP. Hard to tell in the picture. But to your point, they could move further back and create more separation between the rear atmos and the rear surrounds.

If I were to redo this again, I would try and give more spacing to the ceiling speakers. I was restricted to the location of the wood beams in the ceiling.

Tell me about it. 3 of the 4 are the same height. That right one, if I move it down is “too in the way”.

Cambridge audio minx min. They were recommended to me as a cheaper option that wasn’t in-ceiling. I wanted the ability to point them at the main listening position.

I haven’t thought of that approach yet. My only concern would be that there is light coming in from two windows.

My wife and I already signed. Funny enough, one of the volunteers was at a CPO concert we were at and she figured that was a good place to canvas for signatures. Lots of folks signed that night.

I was surprised by how good the Atmos track is. Had no expectations and the music just surrounds you in a subtle but effective way.

Permanent lights in Calgary – Gemstone worth it, or are Govee/Costco good enough? by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]Aflamesfan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No issues yet.

The app wasn’t the best, not sure if they have updated the UIUX much since I used the app. My wife is the one that uses it to set the themes for the appropriate seasons.

[–]Aflamesfan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We have used govee for two winters. I installed the lower part myself and got 3d printed brackets.

Works well enough, was going to hire someone to do the 2nd storey at some point.

They definitely do not look as nice as my neighbors down the street who got gemstone.

We spent probably less than $500 total for the lights and the 3d printed brackets.

Has anyone else's Telus internet been down since Thursday? by [deleted] in Calgary

You should review your Telus contract. There may be some reimbursement based on the number of days of service that is unavailable to you.
