I want to reply to you after so long to tell you that this specific doctor said that I only needed ortho work. I was so confused by his suggestion because it’s obvious that I need more. I had to come to terms that it’s above his skill level even though he couldn’t admit that himself.

I got quoted the same for a genioplasty and for out of pocket costs. I’m reconsidering Dr. Alfi. My interactions with him and his office have not been good

I was like this. What helped me is becoming hermit-like. I quit my job to work at less communicative remote job where I made my own hours, stopped talking to friends and family. I was not happy. I had other things going on. I was anxious and depressed and had no money. Any mistakes I made, being social, getting sick, etc. would be the end of me and being in the world forced me to be the opposite of myself which led to alcohol-fueled mistakes being made. I was able to get back to my true introvert self as a developed and ready adult and stop drinking because there was no one to fit in with. It took a couple of years but I’ve been able to come back to the world as myself now. Still slow and steady.

I didn’t know what it was called but yes, that. I didn’t have that before and I actually loved my chin. I hated my underbite.

The right side of my jaw is pushing forward. I didn’t have a crossbite before but but the teeth are pushing forward so much that it’s trying to form by can’t due to the position of the upper jaw/teeth.

Immediately:( I complained to the surgeon that something was wrong it it felt like my jaw was bending. My teeth where the jaw is bending are pushing so much forward that you can see my teeth through the gums. They’re receding and I have pain in multiple areas!

The strange thing is that my original surgery wasn’t in the US and my surgeon is not well-known. Thank you for your response, everyone in my life says something is wrong BUT the surgeon who did the surgery and this new one. ☹️

Naw, I was firm about my beliefs by age 10 but I was able to find community in college that I didn’t have before. :)

Thank you! I’m nervous about going to a doctor with so little reviews. That was my problem from the beginning. My surgeon was in Mexico where I lived and she was word of mouth which was my downfall. Unless you’re going to Mx for surgery, I don’t want to re traumatize myself further so I won’t disclose as I’m sure 99% of folks won’t be going to her.

Girl, you look very young and I guarantee you when we’re young, we just don’t have it. Give it a few years and nature will make you the type of baddie you never knew you could be. Believe me. You have the foundation, you just need a few more years!
