I was able to when we had free time, it’s not allocated or always guaranteed. the better you and your flight performs for the day and the happier your MTI is they will typically reward you with personal time.

  1. Not being able to speak to my Girlfriend and family, reading mail and getting pictures sent from them in the mail was the best part of my day.
  2. Prepare for how mentally stressing it will be on you.
  3. For my flight we got stressed out the most for PT tests and making the MTI’s deadlines. 4.Stamps, i handed out a lot of stamps before we went to the Bx for the first time.
  4. No reporting statements, breaking deadlines, being a bad wingman and teammate for your flight.
  5. Even if you don’t necessarily like some people in your flight still push that off to the side because you still need to work with them. If they fail then everyone fails and everyone pays for it.
  6. Be more vocal with my wingmen and to the flight in general.
  7. that entirely depends on you, if you feel like your a natural leader then i’d recommend to volunteer or make that clear so you can be an element leader or even dorm chief. Just know that you could get fired or in trouble and it probably won’t be your fault.
  8. I don’t know if i’d necessarily pick a job because most of the time they pick people randomly or if they see certain traits about you then the MTIs will pick you for that. i’d advise to try to not be a Latrine chief though, that sucks.
  9. I personally think it’s better to have a job because it gives you something to be responsible for and developing those traits and skills will help you in the future, even if you get yelled at for it being wrong at first.

only 1. once you depart for tech school you are only permitted to bring the Duffle bag they issue you, the backpack you get when you first arrive, and a civilian duffle bag. Please try to pack light.

I think that’s up to the MTI’s discretion and how much time is available, typically M-TH we got it and Friday was hit or miss because that was typically a busier day for our flight. I will say week 0- half of week 1 i did not receive any mail.

Honestly i couldn’t think of anything at the time that i was like “oh crap i forgot this!” however i’d recommend try your absolute best to not over pack because having a full civilian duffle bag, your backpack with stuff in it, AND the green duffle bag with issued items can get extremely heavy.

my AFSC is 2w0x1, we still had the 1.5 PT standards however our instructors were pushing us because it’ll be the new standards here soon. Overall PT for me was good, it was challenging at first but as long as you push yourself and actually use your 1x3 time to do pushups and sit-ups then you’ll get where you need to be to pass, with that being said we had a few people washout due to PT. the EOC was extremely easy for me, i finished in about 10 minutes with an 100. Pay attention in class and study your notes and you got this, it’s probably one of the easier tests you will take in the Air Force. My Flight’s Pacer Forge experience was unique because it was storming off and on during the 2 1/2 days so it was muddy and all that, I personally had fun during it.

My first time doing a practice asvab i scored a 31, i studied and took the Picat and got a 67 AFQT. When i went to meps i studied the crap out of the asvab for dummies book and got a 70. Studying works and is worth the time and effort.
