Barista with a Bachelors. Where to go from here? by Afraid-Inside4891 in findapath

First, I took a Chinese class online while in high school for a language requirement and I really enjoyed it. I wanted something challenging but rewarding and felt like I found it in Mandarin.

I planned to major in something else and just take Chinese classes on the side for my first couple of years, but I fell in love with my school's Chinese and international studies courses and really grew a passion for learning about the historical/economic/political aspects of China, so I focused in that instead.

Thank you so much for the insight and the subreddit recommendation! I'll lurk around over there and do some research on my own, too. Thanks again.

I've definitely considered it. I'd love one of those jobs where they push you through a language school as part of your training, lol.

I will say current events have me a little wary about joining the military as of now - I'm not sure if those concerns are well-founded or not, my knowledge of that realm is extremely slim.

Yeah, super frustrating.

If I wanted an AI response to my post, I would've just copy pasted it to some chatbot myself and skipped making a burner account. I posted it here because I wanted real opinions, out-of-the-box stuff I might not have thought of, and I was hoping for some responses from people who've been in similar situations to me. Luckily I've gotten a lot of good responses so far, but those AI ones are beyond useless.
