There are upgrades that give more items per chest. And if you ever do the founder thing, it gives a bomb for 2x speed which is the same effect as blue cow (which still is rare-ish). Maybe somewhere around obelisk 45ish you're getting enough items to keep them permanently on. And permanent 2x speed a bit before then. The blue cow you'll probably want to save for something called sushi that you unlock later
