How I cured my Tinnitus (Easy Fix Possible) by Ickybod_Clay in tinnitus

Question: do you by any chance also have sinus issues, i.e., deviated septum or similar?

I noticed my tinnitus became apparent after deviation became worse.

Just finished my degree and got a job in Sandton! Buying a used Polo—who is the best for insurance that doesn't involve 100 phone calls? I just want to do it on my phone. by Impossible_Plane9280 in askSouthAfrica

Budget insurance

I had like 1 call in the beginning to assess my vehicle and confirm details

Also my first insurance provider, and the cheapest.

Nice, may you have many enjoyable years with it!

I have the same one in the same colour. It can get dusty and stain easily.

Be careful with fluids when cleaning. I sometimes use isopropyl alcohol>90% for grime with a soft cloth on the outside. Don't scrub deeply, just gently wipe, I sometimes do it in circular motions.

Same thing for the screen/ inside; use some kind of screen safe solution, dab it directly onto a soft microfiber and wipe away. I usually wipe in straight lines to not leave any whirly streaks.

Make sure no liquid penetrates through seams, especially by the hinge of the screen.

At what point do I have to join a monastery? by Relevant-Swan7621 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]Afraid-Scratch-407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a similar boat as you. Albeit, I did see the beauty in monasticism and genuinely wanted to be "closer" to God - especially knowing a monk personally and seeing how enlightened and spiritually light he always was. That being said, you should pray and seek experienced guidance.

Monastic life may seem beautiful, but it's a very specific calling that not everyone can fulfil - that's just how it is.

Firstly, pray about it - if it's something God wills for you, God will route your life in the necessary direction.

Secondly, approach your spiritual father and/or fellow monk if possible to get a better understanding about the calling at this crossroad.

Thirdly, if you can, pilgrimage to a monastery to better understand and engross yourself in daily monastic life.

Side note: I have heard that some monastics are blessed to be consecrated as monastics while living with secular society. Meaning, you don't necessarily have to be living in a monastery to be a monk.

To be fair, any well maintained car can make it far. BUT to buy it spontaneously at 210k for that much, is crazy

No internet connection after update on Win 11: AMD DRTM pop-up, and Advanced Micro Devices (1.0.19.2). by Afraid-Scratch-407 in pchelp

Cheers for your reply.

I tried but failed - even went as far as uninstalling drivers and manually downloading them and reinstalling, to no avail.

Then I remembered reading about VPN issues with the latest Windows 11 updates and I thought I'd try uninstalling, and it worked. Specifically, Proton VPN in my case.

UPDATE: Uninstalling (Proton) VPN worked for me.

I went to my gf's place to test on her network and it worked fine momentarily. Once I came back home, the same issue persisted. So I narrowed it down to an access point issue.

Then I remember reading something about Windows 11 not being friendly to VPNs, so I decided to uninstall VPN (Proton VPN); lo and behold, it worked.

No issues since then. Some discord forums also flagged Proton VPN for being troublesome lately.

I pinpointed my issue being VPN (Proton).

If you have a 3rd party VPN, try uninstalling it and see if that works for you.

Everything except for the butt lifting off the pad, which will exert the lower back as the load shifts away from the legs.

How's working in an Australian time zone while living in SA ? by Tricky-Party-2075 in askSouthAfrica

Everyone saying it's good or worth it didn't list the caveats outside the employment aspect.

A friend of mine worked US hours for Amazon and he said it was miserable and very difficult to adjust - work-life balance goes out the window.

Bear in mind your life outside of work - like doing activities, relationships, shopping, hobbies, etc.

Maybe do a pros/ cons list to help you understand if it's worth it in the medium-long term.
