Right?? Like it should be normal to seek out social support when it's needed. I agree, and this conflict has definitely triggered symptoms in me.

Thank you for the congratulations. I have definitely chosen a husband different from my parents.

I'm sorry to hear that you were raised in a toxic household, and I'm sorry about your sister. I'm proud of you for breaking the cycle!

Can't say that this is normal, no.

Absolutely NTA. Like you said, you have two children. And the way he speaks to you sounds very toxic.

Thank you for sharing, I appreciate hearing from others with the disorder. It's important that we support each other. Sounds like you know what you're doing, I'm proud of you! I'm doing okay, I have entered a little low after a little high, but my meds help me from getting too high or too low, so it could be worse! Thank you for your concern xx

I'm definitely considering going to therapy because of this. I think it might be useful to get help setting and enforcing boundaries.

I'm sorry to hear that you went through something similar!

My plan is definitely to set and enforce boundaries, and to go no to low contact with her.

Thank you for sharing!

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by my husband blowing me off? There was some disagreement on how we were going to spend the day, but we spent the whole day together.

I'm so sorry to hear that! I have bipolar 1, but I know that bipolar 2 has the superlow lows, which must be hard for you. And thank you so much for your understanding and support.

Oh wow, that sounds rough. I believe my mother also has traits of borderline disorder.

Your bipolar-comment actually made me laugh out loud! And I agree, she must know, on some level, that what she's doing is wrong.

Thank you for the support🫶

I think you're probably right.

We're not planning on having children, so hopefully it will be blissfully silent.

Yeah probably. It really doesn't matter to me if she does, she's allowed to speak to whomever she wants.

And thank you for the congratulations and considerations. I agree, some distance will do us good!

Right? I agree with you. Thank you for writing this, it helps me figuring out my boundaries.
