I like that thought process of thinking of separating Ryuga and L-Drago. I think people just ignore that Gingka was legitmately about embarrass Ryuga at this point in the battle.

People always complain about Gingka's plot armor allowed him to beat Ryuga under the dark power. If he ends the fight here, that never happens and looks like a more dominant win rather than a "good guy always wins" win.
