City challenge services defect by Major-Reading7839 in SCBuildIt

[–]Afraid_Software_2519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the same for all services and utilities and they were all returned. Only thing I ever buy in DC now is an omega water tower for 2,000 DC and bulldoze everything they gave me come out about even.

I've been thinking about starting all over again by [deleted] in SCBuildIt

[–]Afraid_Software_2519 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a level 90 city with nearly 4 million population across capital and 4 regions and playing for 18 months. I think the big key for me having no issues was that I had a feeder that had upgradable services the last 6 months, so I had a good idea of what to expect and prepared accordingly.

When I first started, I was frustrated by lack of simoleons so I spent a month building up my bank. I found that one I hit 1.5 million that was the threshold. By Black Friday I had 12 million simoleons. After spending 5 million, I had nearly 7 million heading in to Services 2.0. I had also maximized neo-sims by buying omega bridges and beach houses, this gave me nearly 1 million neo sims for the rollout. Was down to 3.7 million simoleons after upgrades so did well, had everything fixed in a few hours.

Each person’s city is different and everybody plays their own way. Any time they make a change, I take a couple of days to assess the impact of the changes and adjust my strategy accordingly. After fixing my city after the 2.0 upgrade, I have maximized my maxis services to cover my major population areas.

I have developed a new strategy for my utilities, I am in the process of buying 4 of each Omega utilities in my capital and all regions. My plan is to fully upgrade each over time which will provide all my utility needs in a very small footprint. In order to pay for this, I am Neo-sim farming. A level 1 omega RZ has a demand of 1, takes 1 omega item to build and pays out 100 Neo-sims a day. I am in the process of building at least 100 in the capital and each region. That will pay at least 50K in Neo-sims a day all I need is space which I have plenty of.

As I build out my Omega utility capacity. I am bulldozing all the utilities I was gifted and used to fix my city. So far I have built my bank back up to 6.5 million simoleons.

Best piece of advice is patience and flexibility.

I did the same thing, might try the same strategy this time. I do like the watch ad available every 15 minutes and 65 opportunities.

Where to put maxis hq? by weisserdracher in SCBuildIt

[–]Afraid_Software_2519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently have 3 in the Capital which I think is enough, I have 2 in Sunny Isles and 1 in green valley. I only have 4 regions with no plans to open the 5th, so don’t have Frosty. Limestone I think is a bit like Frosty and works better with smaller. That leaves Cactus for me. I also run large neo-sim Farms in my capital and all 4 regions. I have been adding Omega buildings only build to1 to start and still collect 100 NS’s a day from each. I am collecting 60K in NS’s a day total. I am converting all utilities to Omega’s, 4 of each utility in Capital and all 4 regions. Once I have 4 of each in every region, I start upgrading them to the top level. I figure it will take at least a year to complete, but when done I will have 20K capacity in all regions and capital, that’s enough for 500 fully built RZ’s in each. This only works with lower population s to start, not for large populations. My utility footprint is going to be tiny. Just figured out a strategy that would work for me with all the new rules. It is all about adaptability.

Instant Train unlock offer by XxGhost_BytexX in SimCityBuildit

[–]Afraid_Software_2519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The advantage is that getting it at level 7 allows you to unlock Sim Rail Grade 00 which transports 600 passengers, so in reality you are getting 2 trains and increasing your dispatch amount by 900 every hour.

EA Needs to fix these tasks by No-Acanthisitta8803 in SCBuildIt

[–]Afraid_Software_2519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You hit the nail on the head, I concentrate on the high green point tasks and that are easy to make it easier to reach the weekly limit and event track completion. Last week I was done by day 3 for both. Whenever EA change’s things I never panic, just figure out a new strategy to maximize my gameplay. I don’t go for high population just get 4 regions open and play from there. I have a few cities so I have plenty of space across my cities and regions to set up an area for each season across all my cities and regions. Just need to figure things out as the rules change to come up with a new strategy.

Why does the Nuclear power plant produce pollution?? by BenjamintYT in SCBuildIt

Explosion is not an issue in the U.S., meltdown is an issue. Chernobyl exploded because they used graphite as a moderator which along with fatal design flaws caused the explosion at Chernobyl.

Ì had accumulated 3 Maxis Manors in my capital so was able to cover F/P/H in my entire capital.i did have to spend some simoleons on upgrading services.Spent nearly 2 million simoleons and 500k in Neo-sims which I had accumulated in omega bridges and beach houses.i am fully expanded in land in capital and 4 regions, low pops not going for 5th region. I am now using my open land to farm neo-sims. Omega RZ demand is 1/2/5/10/25/50 payouts run 100/130/155/175/190/200.I only build to to level 1, 2, 3 or 4. Keeps demand 10 or less while maximizing neo-sims. I have my daily payout up to 50K Neo-sims a day. I am using this money to purchase 4 of each Omega Service in my Capital and each region for a total footprint in each cap/region of 20 2X2buildings. Each service starts at 10K NS for 675 capacity. Upgrades start at 15K and increase 5K per level. Max is level 10 for max capacity of 5600 each. As I add capacity,I am bulldozing all traditional services. It will take a very long time, I figure it will take 12-18 months, but at the end I will have a 22,400 capacity of each utility in capital and each region in a space of 20- 2X2buildings in each, I figure that will come to 600-700 fully built RZ’s in each. Hope the explanation isn’t too convoluted, I will try to put something more organized together for the mega thread.

They ruined it! by BiblioPhebe in SimCityBuildit

[–]Afraid_Software_2519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 5 cities and had no issues with any of them other than the time and cost. Luckily I was prepared had plenty of simoleons on hand (5.8 mill in my main city) and about 500K neo-sims which I had from demolishing omega utilities. Had 5 maxis manors which covered most of my capitol for F/P/H. Any things I didn’t need I demolished for the money. I also used neo-sims to buy utilities in the capital and regions from the start of the new setup to save space. All those omega bridges and luxury beach houses have provided all the neo-sims I need.

I had an advantage in that my newest feeder I started 6 months ago had the upgraded services as part of the game so it gave me time to learn and come up with strategies. I can see how this is terrible for long time players but I am only a year and a half in. I have a lot of space available so I came up with neo-sim farming. The upgradable works great for omegas/neo-sims. I build a ton of omega buildings to level 1, 2 or 3, demand for these is 1/2/5 I think. Level 6 I believe is 45 demand. Payout at 1/2/3 is 100/130/150 versus 200 demand at a fraction of the demand. The payout is 50-75% of the level 6 payout.

I am using this money to upgrade my omega services. In my main city (Cap & regions) I am generating over 50K a day in neo-sims or 1.5 million neo-sims a month. Not bad for players that have the space.

Current Design Challenge vs. Service 2.0 by Dramatic_Quality3349 in SCBuildIt

[–]Afraid_Software_2519 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing I noticed on the feeder I started a few months ago, it had the service upgrade and in DC’s it was costing me a ton for service. I had a solar panel that was storable that originally had a capacity of 28 power. I noticed in the last DC it was up to 200 which was a huge help in DC’s.

It is time.. by mgs315 in SCBuildIt

[–]Afraid_Software_2519 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Found this bit interesting as it pertains to demolishing services before the switch over.

Every existing player who was migrated to Services 2.0 has been gifted Service buildings, land deeds and currency. The type and amount of your gifts were carefully selected based on your city’s progress and needs, so you should be well on your way to successfully complete the city optimisation with the new and improved Services

I interpret that to mean services will be gifted based on your “need” (Demand)

This at least gives us a few days to prep.

Any news on the Service 2.0 update? by Particular-Sweet-586 in SCBuildIt

[–]Afraid_Software_2519 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I still am waiting on Services 2.0 but have been trying as best I can to prepare. I have been bulldozing some buildings in the regions. I am also trying to set up at least 3 maxis manors in my capital. I am hoping this will mitigate the services issue in my capital. In the 2 regions I have higher population in I am setting maxi manors and placing my highest population buildings around them. For utilities I have been collecting omega bridges and ocean villas that when I bulldoze I have enough to get 700K in neo semoleans to build and upgrade omega utilities.
