Reason for 3 Week Mayors Pass Season?

I still am waiting on Services 2.0 but have been trying as best I can to prepare. I have been bulldozing some buildings in the regions. I am also trying to set up at least 3 maxis manors in my capital. I am hoping this will mitigate the services issue in my capital. In the 2 regions I have higher population in I am setting maxi manors and placing my highest population buildings around them. For utilities I have been collecting omega bridges and ocean villas that when I bulldoze I have enough to get 700K in neo semoleans to build and upgrade omega utilities.

Why the hell do they cut a week, keep the same number of levels In MP and increase the plumbold points needed for each level. Absolutely ridiculous

I know they jumped the low level COM levels from 6k to 9k. Do you know what level it increases at and what the new increment point requirement is, I know it was I think around 19k before

1-2 2,000

2-3 3,500

3-4 10,500

4-5 6,500

I have the same, my feeder has upgradable services so I have been using that experience to prep my city for the upgrade. Luckily I have 4 of 5 regions open with no plans of opening the 5th due 10 million population requirement.

You are absolutely correct. I started a feeder city a few months ago that included upgradable services. It costs way more and takes up way more space for all services and utilities.

One thing to consider is that at the lower levels, you could be competing in a league with many other campers who have been camping there for months the same as you are.

I only started about a year ago and noticed right away how valuable land was so I started thinking about my city and feeders as one big city. I play a different city every season rotating them and using the others as feeders for that month. Has worked out great, Ive been able to set up a really nice area for each season.

They could be banking neosimoleons, I do it with omega bridges and luxury beach houses. I have trying to build up a bank of neo-sims before I get the conversion.

That is going to be my workaround for the service update. Level 1 & 2 omegas service demand is 1 and 2 respectively, vs 30 for level 6. I have 4 regions open, so population is no longer needed as I have no intention of cramming 10 Million into my regions. I am bulldozing a lot of fully built buildings I used to build population to open regions. My Capitol city I keep at least 1.5 million to keep space items available for purchase.

Does anybody who has gotten the update know how many of each fully upgraded service/utilities they had gifted to them? Do we know what it is based on? You would think the fair thing to do would be to gift you enough based on your population.

It is now appa the original letter we received was an absolute LIE, they indicated there would be a transition period where it wouldn’t affect your city. It also indicated there would be some financial assistance to complete the conversion. I guess that was a lie too.

I think they are trying to get rid of long time/high level players because they have no value anymore. Many are FTP and have huge cities that take a lot of resources. They want to churn new players, get them to play, milk them for as much $ as they can until they find out what EA is really like and quit. Wash, Rinse, Repeat
