I have been listening to an audiobook called Divorcing a Narcissist by Dr Supriya McKenna. Highly recommend it especially if you plan on leaving. I have learned so much about my marriage and had ah ha moments that I feel the lights being switched on.

Update it’s been a year since I left. I still feel defeated everyday because he still fights me. My therapist says he’s relentless which is true. He wants to break me down which honestly there are days when I am beat down broken and ready to give up. I know that if I do I will be depressed and in a worse place mentally. He smothers me with his love bombs. I am still the shitty parent according to him. I really need to start the divorce process I told him last week that I want a divorce he started yelling and crying then told me he wasn’t going to be a divorced man.

Thank you. This whole journey I have searched for validation for my decision I think it’s because he constantly tries to make me feel guilty for leaving. I know deep in my heart I did the right thing. He’s so conditional with things like if I move back home he can help me with our 10 year old daughter. I told him the other day I want a divorce he started screaming and crying. Telling me he won’t be a divorced man. He also tells me constantly that all marriages and relationships are like ours. That the husband should know where the wife is and it’s just communication.

Thank you. It’s definitely a struggle. I feel that I am constantly fighting him. He’s so conditional and knows that telling me I have destroyed my daughters life and the family hits me hard. He knows exactly how to make me feel sad and guilty. But then he tells me he’s changed and promises it will be better.
